Default dd-able trail rig

This is my second cherokee. my first one was a 1984 with absolutely no rust on it, it was gorgeous. unfortunately i had to seel it for financial reasons. My dad stumbled accross my current one, and turned me onto it. The kid said it wouldn't start everyonce in a while when it was cold out. he ended up dumping hundreds into it to blindly try and find the problem. after the starter went out in the process he parked it. i then ended up picking it up for 450 buck "not running", putting a starter in and driving it home. needed a tps sensor and the pcm is on its way out. heres what it looked like the day we got it home.

we then spent the day in the garage and this was our result

i was lucky and stumbled upon some new tires since the junk 31s i had laying around had no tread left. i paid 200 for these. they are nothing special just 31x11.5x15. but they have over 90% tread left

figured since i got new tires she deserved a new pant job as well. since the chop top jeep that my budy and i built a few years ago was flat green i thought id keep the theme.

some wheelin pics

then the end result of dog party......

so i improvised and this is what came up with, its not done yet so it looks a lot worse in the picture than it does in real life. i'll post pics up in the next few days of the final product.

sorry this was so long winded for a not very exciting jeep lol.

Why on earth did you not use the hitch as your extraction point?

Notice the angle that he is in the ditch at? Now look at the tow strap around the bumper. Simple geometry says the hatch isn't going to survive.

The hitch didn't do anything to the hatch. I was backing down a hill and my brakes locked up and some idiot was at the bottom of the hill and I couldn't stop and his stinger went through my back window/hatch

im goint to assume that the toe rope is hooked on the hitch and just laying inside the back of the jeep with the hatch closed. doesnt appear to be tied to the bumper or hatch at all.

Correct. The hatch is attached via a d ring to the hitch and the strap is closed in the hatch

You can hate it or love it but I think we made it look pretty good for what it is(lenses aren't in lights)
