Ordered an 8.8 with 5.13 gears and a Yukon grizzly locker. Should receive the axle within five weeks. Until then we plan to finish up the frame stiffeners, install the bumpers, and install the SYE.

Quite a bit of progress made this month. Front axle removed and frame stiffeners welded. The 5.13 geared 8.8 arrives today. We plan to install the suspension, axles, SYE, and bumpers two weeks from now.

Great progress, you jumped right in on this one. So it looks like the plan has been revised, I'm assuming when you jumped from 4.56s in a C8.25 to 5.13s in an 8.8 that you're no longer staying with 33's?...

We decided to go with 35s instead of 33s. Have a set of KM2s waiting in the garage. Lift should be slightly over 6" when you factor in the shackle relocation with JKS shackles. We will trim as needed and bumpstop accordingly.

Should be fine running 35's on 6", lots of people running them on smaller lifts than that. Just bump stop and trim accordingly. Im going to be running 35's on 5.5", just waiting on my 3 link to show up.

Looking good so far.

ECGS built 8.8 arrived. Came with stock shafts so we will likely upgrade to chromoly shafts this spring.

Nice n purdy. Although id recommend welding the tubes to the housing. 8.8's are known for spinning.

This is getting pretty tasty now! I'll second the 8.8 tubes spinning. My buddies just did not that long ago. Was pretty funny to see but that's also probably because it wasn't my rig

Tubes should have been welded by ECGS. I have not seen the axle in person yet but will make sure the tubes are welded.

We spent Thursday through Sunday working on the rig. Installed the 8.8, shackle relocation brackets, rear leads, regeared D30, new brakes, Clayton long arms, one ton steering, and front bumper.

Next we need to finish the welding the frame stiffeners, install the SYE, and new driveshaft.

Made some more progress over the past few weeks. Bumpers installed, tires installed, and frame stiffeners welded. Next we will install the SYE, order the rear driveshaft, and trim the fenders. Couple more weekends and we can brake in the gears.

My Jeeping partner spent a few hours this week trimming the fenders. Added much needed clearance and looks sharp.
