okay i just got my 1st jeep a little over a month ago and i told myself that i wasnt going to be doing anything to it but now i know thats not true so its time to start a build thread ..
its a 2001 cherokee sport 4wd it came with a 3'' BB and that will be going away..
this is what it looked like when i got it
first thing i did was a oil change, new plugs, new air filter and topped off all of the fluids just like any new car that i would buy she runs great for having 107,xxx miles ....
about a week after i got it a friend gave me a set of RE quikdiscos that he had sitting around ( he got a set of jks ) so got some new swaybar bushings and put everything in on my day off
i left the bottom bolt in because im lazy and didn't want to go to the hardware store to get a new can of gas to heat it up and knock it out but ill do it soon and ill get some paint to clean up the disco ...
so on my next day came the muffler the old one had a few holes in it so i cut it off and got a cherry bomb $40 for everything i needed cant beat that ... i used a friends welder and the welds are ugly but they hold with no leaks
and that day i did a t-case drop to kill my vibes till i get a sye
next came a adjustable trak bar and a new stabilizer and thats it as of now but there is more to come just need parts to come in . i did get my new leaf springs ( the coils are old zj ones that i have sitting around )
but im waiting on the coils, LCA, what ever steering linkage i end up picking ( ether rustys, jcr otk or sirous off road ) and a weekend off
i did take it wheeling with a few friends here are a few pics of the trip

so over the last two days i installed my rear leafs and shocks and all i can say is it was physical and my body feels it but there on and i love the ride
all this to run 32's with no cutting and no rubbing ( and because i don't like the idea of blocks in the rear )
this is what it looked like before
i broke 2 of the old u bolts because the PO cut the top of the u bolts off and the nuts got stuck at the very end
and next came the issue that made this job a PINTA , so when taking the front and back bolt out of the leafs the sleeve thats inside the bushing was rusted to the bolt and would just spin in the bushing not allowing the bolt the come out . so out came the grinder and we cut the leafs and the sleeve around the bushing out , used a box cutter to cut out the rubber bushing leaving just the bolt and sleeve then i took the air hammer the seem of the bushing to open it up but i had to do this on all 4 main bolt ... after a few HR's everything was out
slowly everything came together
and this is how it looks now ... its a little over a 4'' but i think after they settle they will drop down to the 4'' im looking for

its been a busy few weeks so i haven't had much time with my jeep but i did do a few small things
the bumper caps and fender flares came off to fix some rust and now i dont know if i want to fix the rust or just cut the fenders ..
and i got a zj sway bar and tie rod but i haven't had time to put the tie rod on
and when i put the new sway bar on i finally got the bottom disco bolt out so i could put the removable pins in
and for the extra $2 these cotter pins with the extra handle are great
