I recently parted out my last XJ, a 1996 Sport with IRO's 3 lift and 31s. It was rusted beyond belief so it had to go.

Build Thread: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/re...-build-133440/

Within 2 weeks of looking I found a 1998 classic 4 door cherokee with 124k on it, but i skipped past it on Craigslist because I didnt like it. Then I looked at it and it was beat to hell and I wanted something much cleaner. 2 days later I called the guy and offered a super low number, he took it. Took about a week of work to pass the crazy MD inspection.

I am building this jeep to be a slowly growing daily driver to college and work. I messed up many things on my last Jeep and refuse to do that to this one. The work will be quality and quality parts will be used.

Without further adieu, I give you my:

1998 Cherokee Classic
126k
4.0, AW4, 242 TC
Dana 30 / Dana 35

My current plans for this jeep are not too extensive:

-2" budget boost
-coil spacers
-HD Offroad Relocation Brackets
-1.5"-2" shackle
-31x10.5x15 BFG KM2's
-Spectre Cowl Intake
-703 injectors
-TC skid plate
-a lot of maintenance

My plans in the far future, however, are extremely extensive.

First thing was first seafoam, not much stuff came out which made me happy. Then it needed tires and a member(xjclassicxj) hooked me up in a trade with some excellent 225 general grabber ATs.

Then it was time for the parts list to begin being bought. I had everything I needed for the Budget Boost. I bought the injectors first from Programbo, then the Spectre Cowl Intake and finally an OEM transfer case skid from the for sale section for $40.

I also painted my 1st body line with the can of Herculiner I had left over from my last Jeep.

First I installed my 2" lift with the help of Damien(xjclassicxj) and Rob(kuzican). That went very smoothing and was finished in 3 nights.

Then I figured out my rear drive shaft was significantly bent. My strict father said I couldnt use a JY replacement so I spent money to get a new tube put on with a thicker tube, new ujoints, and rebalanced. Now my front drive shaft needs to be rebuilt also.

After the BB:

Took off my flares and trimmed my fenders to fit my planned 31s. If all goes well I'll have 31" KM2s next wednesday afternoon that have 2k miles on them from Jon(PudgyFingers). I cant wait.

This saturday I have big day planned of getting this Jeep up to par:

-703 injectors
-Spectre cowl intake
-clean throttle body
-valve cover gasket
-nut strips & hitch off my old jeep

So here's an updated picture of the Jeep with the 2" BB, 225 ATs, and trimmed fenders.

I think you need to throw some 31s on there soon.

I forgot to mention that last Sunday I went with kuzican, MD_XJ_MD, and xjclassicxj to a local rock trail. Only went or a few hours because I had a paper to write, but had a blast. Jeep did great for its first outing.
