Default Building my 90 XJ

Joined the site about a week ago and thought I would share my build. I really like what I have read on the site and can't wait to get settled in with this forum community. I'll be posting pics of my 90 2dr shortly. I bought my jeep because I never got over the premature end of my brother's build when we where in high school. He had a Cherokee Chief with an awesome inlay in the back hatch glass of an eagle flying through mountains. Unfortunately he totaled it the day before we were going to start fabbing a 4.3ltr out of a Monte Carlo to power it through the mud. I'll stop blabbing and get to posting pics of my XJ.

Default Darn!

Won't be able to post any pics until tomorrow. Yeah I am partial too, my wife actually found my jeep on auto trader, she said it looked like me and when I went to look at it I said "I DO"!!!!!! Black, 5 speed manual, inline 6, 2dr and had an old RC 4.5 lift (I have since replaced). I have a spent 20mm casing that I want to use as my shifting ****, I just need to cut it down a little so it don't stick up to tall.

Default Help! I have Questions

It has been a while since my last thread but I was walking the local yard looking for a replacement cluster gage for my rig. It came equiped with the dummy lights. I found the what I needed in that department, (actual gages) BUT!, I am also planning on upgrading my rear axles. There were many exploders out there a couple of eddie bower editions that I think may have the 8.8 or do they all come with it? Also I found an 88 waggy with the Dana 44, and also an 87 cherokee loredo that I am thinking has the 44 but not sure, it did have the drain plug on the diff cover. I don't plan swapping the front just doing the super 30 uprade, my rig use will be something in the neighborhood of like 30% off-road and 70% daily driver. I am running 33's though and would like a good yard axle to spiff up and replace the Dana 35. Any and all info would be great!

Started building a roof rack today and found a 8.8 out of an exploded and the yard has their axles all for a set price so I'll be picking it up for a whopping $25 smackeroos!!!!!

So I have a set of axles out of a late 90's dodge. Dana 44 up front and a 9 1/4 in the rear. Already shaved the axle shafts on the rear, just cleaning it up now getting it ready for some welding. The 44 is going to be the nail biter. Going to have the wife take some pics and stuff so I can post them. Wish me luck! Hopefully will have some pics by tomorrow. Also going to be prepping the cargo area to weld in my new floor pan. I'll have pics of that for sure. If you've been looking for a cargo area floor pan patch then visit www.classic2current.com and also ebay.
