So I found a write-up for DRL courtesy lights on here that looks really neat, looking for something the make my XJ a little more "mine", some personal touches that stand out besides the roof rack I never use

Wheel cylinder and master cylinder getting replaced today. Got a deal on the parts, $50 for the lot instead of $115. All it was was a decent drive to Mid City Subaru downtown. Glad my stepdad's a parts manager there.

In other news, 3 inches of snow tomorrow. Hi to you too Spring...

My computer is jacked up and it's a struggle to open up any browser so picture updates are are hard to do. Fixed my wheel cylinder and ended up not needing to replace the master cylinder, also replaced the brake line because we had to cut it.

Also lost my off road virginity yesterday. Nice small trail by the college and only got 1 pic, but now that I've had a taste I'm hungry for more!

If anyone's interested I post some if not all of my Jeep pics on Intagram: DevilsPotato94.

So this happened today on the way home from school.

Road to 200k

I also love how you can upload pictures from the mobile site now instead of fighting with my laptop.

It's been on and off thunderstorming all day here in IL and now there's a tornado watch. It was sunny 30 minutes ago, but now thundering again...

UPDATION: just ordered my lift kit from SeriousOffroad!

Rubicon Express 3.5" Super-Ride w/ mono tube shocks (RE6025M) as well as their adjustable tracbar (RE1600). $986 and change. Had a a question and Frank was super fast to respond.

Can't wait. Next step will be wheels and tires, found a steele wheel I like from Summit Racing and thinking maybe the 32x11.5x15 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with kevlar. Still shopping for tires though, need to save up alot more for those.

Leaving the stock life by the end of summer hopefully!

You might already know this but strip sockets/easyouts will get the job done pretty easily for ya.

I use them all the time at work for drain plugs.

Thanks, but I tried those; and the gator grip ones, and a wrench & hammer combo, and vice grips, penetrating oil. Nothing. Finally took it to the Jeep dealership to see what they could do and they said they'd need a few hours to play with it and that they may have to replace the whole oil pan... I'm taking it in on Tuesday cause of work schedule. When I do make mistakes I guess I make sure they're expensive...

Replace the whole pan??? I dunno, but from experience (I work at a quick lube) I wouldn't think that you'd need to replace the pan. I've dealt with my fair share of mangled drain plugs and there's always been a way to get them out. I've done everything from the strip sockets to using vice-grips on the head of the plug, tightening them down with pliers, and using them as a makeshift wrench. Heck, people with even weld little beads on bolts just so there is something to grab on to.

That's the very last resort they said, if they absolutely can't get it out. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
