The only reason why did an exo instead of an interal was.. the lack of room in the comanche cab. We did an internal cage on my other rig.. and I like it just as much.

All rigs are works of evolution. My other build on the Turd.. will more then likely stay like it is. and get beat to death. This one on the other hand will keep morphing and changing until the only thing left is a firewall and a vin plate.
The front fender cuts were totally functional. IF they rubbed I cut more. Not exactly the right way but it worked. Keep in mind I was only on 35's running with guys on 38's and up
, and keeping up with them.

I think by the time this phase of the build will be done... it will be dovetailed in the front
I want to have 6" of uptravel
and with 42's that is going to be hard. So more then likey the whole front might end up being tubing of some kind.

Thanks man. I dont think anyone who gets into rockcrawling starts off with a locked and on 35"+ to start with. I like to show that a lot of blood sweat and tears went into this rig. Not everything has turned out the way I wanted.. but what does.

Great build up on that MJ. Just a thought are you going to extend the wheel base in the rear? It looks like you have a pretty big over hang with the rear end. It could just be the camera angle though.
There is a lot of over hang.. but when we built it.. it was built with the thought of that part getting cut off when I linked the rear. Right now I am at 113", and I kinda want to stay in that range.

So you are going to cut it and shorten it, I was going to offer that idea but wasn't sure how thrilled you would be about cutting that up cuase ya'll really did do a good job putting it together. Should be really sick with the 42's on it.
If you look where the rear most x-member is... eveything but the "bed halo, and rear leaf mounts die off there, so thats how much shorter it will get. I m thinking the rear axle is going to stay about where it is. On the front.... I am doing awaywith the big bumper and bull bar. and plan on narrowing it down. Mostly to improve approach angle, and so I can keep this rig as low as I can.
Well plans changed again

Tires changed from 42's to 39's

Well Since I sold the old axles.. I ended up putting a 2wd beam in it, and trailer tires

Pong on the trailer... looks like a rock version of a Rat roadster

Of course plans have changed again. DO to some creative trading it will now be sporting a 4.3/700r4/231/d300

Motor on the ground

Had to see what the tire would look like

Rig at ride height in the front Belly height is 23"

Front axle in realtive position, and body at ride height

Now its time to break out the cutting tools out. the plan is to cut the front frame off at the fram rail, and build a double tube front. No need to spend all kinds of time fixing suff that isnt that strong
