Yeah, for sure don't plan on driving it anytime soon once you start if you do it like me. I pulled everything, inside and out. Otherwise I pressure washed it, scrub brushed it with dish soap, then wiped it down with paint thinner, then wire brushed it with my grinder cup. Paint it right away, I used gloss black equipment enamel. I like the gloss because it will hose off nicely.

Jeeze that sounds like alot of work. How hard was the wiring? I got my front off motor tranny an transfer out. Whats left is my melted wires that I'ma pull and replace with some out of a running jeep from a jy I got. Think I could tape off stuff with duct tape and "water proof it" for pressure washing?

Plug and play, just took a zillion photos of how it looked to put it back up. Pretty easy, easier than getting the internals out of the dash and off of the firewall! What's the vintage and what do you need to tape off? As long as you don't have any fluid lids off like say your master cylinder it's all made for it.

Sorry, what year is the Cherokee? That's the one we're talking about right? Or did you pull it all on the MJ? No, you shouldn't have to tape anything off like I say, unless you have something open with fluids, master cylinder, steering box, brake lines, etc. The hardest part is getting the bolt out of the fuse block to unplug it? I think it is an 8 mm, I'll check it an get back to you.

Hey, I was reading your build and saw this, my grandparents live in Arroyo Grande, I think on or just off Carpenter Canyon. Not going to ask if you know them haha. Its definitely a cool area. I don't get there often being in NY but can't forget it. anyway, good work on your jeep.

It's intended to be a capable Queen. Partly the way Jeep should have made them and some custom kit. It will ultimately be a tow vehicle for my motor home that i can hit some of the countries cool routes with and also take to town with the Mrs and she won't be embarrassed. It will be pretty, my DD I think now will become an offroad maven. We rolled it this weekend and are talking about hammering it out and a cage to beat it.
