Just got the news today that my 3rd brake light and my backup lights don't work, the parts are about $300, and about another $150 for labor if he does it, so there goes my lift kit money...

Where this is my first car and my DD, I think I'm going to shell out the extra cash for a professionally made and user proven lift kit. Eyeballing the RE Super-Ride 3.5 with full packs...

Thanks to the help from everyone, I was able to fix the 2 problems! I ended up replacing the NSS, and there was a loose connection going to the 3rd brake light. Definitely not a $600 repair... Bernice passed inspection yesterday, and I can take her with me this weekend on a ziplining and whitewater rafting trip!

Took her for 2 hours of highway time tonight on I93, drove like a champ! No issues that I could tell!

Walked out Sunday a couple hours after I got back from MudFest, and there was a decent puddle of oil under the Jeep. Turns out the water coming off the condenser picked up some old oil that was in the engine bay, so no big deal with that. As it turns out, I was about 1\2 quart over on my oil, so I brought that down to a safe level.

Now I need a new window motor Put the passenger's rear window (power windows) down, and I heard a thump. Pulled the door panel, and the cable broke off of the motor, and now there is no connector on the window motor, so I'll be buying one of them...

That RE kit rides ruff too, my buddy is running it on his XJ, plus it gave him more than 4'' of lift. I run the RC 3'' AAL kit with absolutely no issues, rides smother than the RE kit too. Another buddy we built a bastard pack with gmc sonoma leafs and the XJ main leaf, rides a lil ruff but get the job done. As far as tires, whats up with only 30s? I made the mistake of buying 31s for my 3'' kit, I could've gotten 33s, or even 35s with a lil more trimming.

My plans have changed since then. For now I'm going with a 2 inch lift and 31s. After that I'll do some trimming to stuff 33s with the RE 3.5". I have heard nothing but bad things about RC and I don't like AALs, as they wear out faster

About a year on my AAL, and still sitting at exactly 3", I've heard bad about there full leaf packs being kinda short and bushing going fast. I dont have either of those so im good lol. Now i do plan on getting rid of theyre shocks, not cuz theyre going out or anything, but im about to do new control arms, trackbar, possibly CADs, and getting the longest possible shocks that I can fit. I personally like my RC "kit" and dont regret spending 250 on it, **** i have more in my audio than that. I got it before I knew anything really about 4x4, and its done well, know that I know what I do, I will never buy a "Kit" I will get the strongest components from each manufacture. Besides the point, Its super flexy(control arms and TB limit my flex)

Took Bernice for her first real offroad test yesterday, and she did great! I know, I hate mud, but I needed something to do. Even ended up having to rescue a Chevy 2500!

Also, to solve the problem of the ****ty headlights, the KC Apollos showed up today!

Just realized that I haven't updated this since before the summer! Well, things have been happening! Finally got around to installing my KCs, took the damn mud flaps off, AND I GOT NEW WHEELS AND TIRES!!! Here are a couple of the shots from this summer:

Looks good man! I'm thinking of getting those exact same KC lights for my XJ, glad to see they look good. Rad tires and rims too.

<font size="3">Wow, after a year and a half, this Jeep has changed a good amount! Since I last updated this, it's been lifted (two different heights), and had a bunch of lighting upgrades! Keeping with my expedition/camping rig theme, I'll be staying with the same tires for now, and adding lots more lighting around the whole Jeep.

Since the last update:
- RT Offroad 2" budget boost (since been removed/replaced w/ Rusty's 3")
- Rusty's 3" lift
- RT Offroad 1.5" wheel spacers
- Clear park light housings
- LED headlights
- European tail lights
- Custom full length roof basket
- CB radio
- Flush mount LED reverse pods
- Rugged Ridge front tow hook kit

Budget boost:

Rusty's 3" lift:

Euro tails & reverse pods:

Roof basket (work in progress):

Upcoming mods:
- Inspired Engineering LED pod mirror mounts
- LED switchback parking lights
- Roof basket build:
- 7 pods (3 on each side, 1 in back)
- 4 KC Apollo lights (front)
- 2 jerry cans<font>
