I will certainly post up detailed photos, and steel used to create just about every inch of the frame, and unibody tie-ins. My goal is to at least have this project done (At the very latest) THIS Xmas. I am also building this to be driven on street. So this is not a trailer princess.
Anyone who is in the Phoenix Az area can come by and see this thing in person. When it is done, (Either the Jeep, or the Miata) I will take passengers for a ride. WV is a long way to travel.
THIS weekend I will make some big headway on the Jeep build. Just need to purchase some more steel this morning. And will post some photos today of where I go from here.
Definitely staying on this looks like it's gonna be a killer jeep. That's a pretty mad miata too The stock 4 cyl hardly fit idk how you managed to get a turboed small block in there
Made some headway on the Jeep. I started by pulling the carpet out of the Jeep, and thought about how I didn't like all of that sheet metal.... That turned into a 5 hour slicing party with the plasma cutter.

You'd be amazed of all of the room inside the Miata engine compartment. It is like the people who designed these cars intended on aftermarket guys to fit a V-8 into them.

got that right but not as far as you think. I started school (Elementary) in Mesa, mother was born in Chandler, and more than half of my family still lives in Mesa...I only lived out there for about 2 years. Im out your way when possible. it will be a year or two before I am out there again. but that gives you more than enough time haha . You are making great progress from just the other day. keep it up man.
If only I was allowed to do this.... lol you either are not married or you have a woman that every man dreams of having.
I have,NO wife, NO kids, and NO dog. But I have a Jeep, a drift car, a kick *** house with a pool, and a kick *** garage. Plus having a girlfriend who understands what it time it takes to build this really helps.
Today is May 24th, 2015.... My insane goal is to get this thing to drive out of my garage by the first of the year. Worst case scenario is 12 MONTHS from today. . Set a goal, open your mouth to say it in a public forum, and THEN get to CRACKIN! I am not going to drag this thing out forever.
Ok, since I am making goals here.... Let's hold me to this one.... In the NEXT 30 days, I will have the stiffeners and frame rails started, axles and tabs mocked up, suspension links made, and a jig to hold the motor and tranny in the Jeep. How's that for a plan?

sounds great! Would be a better plan if you fabbed me up some frame stiffners and suspension links also. Lol. Jealous of people who can do what you do to a jeep.
I removed the entire sheet metal frame rail. Now I picked up an obscure box to make the frame out of. This is 3&1/2 square, 3/16th thick. This fits inside of the stiffeners from Essentially offroad. BUT it is a bit heavy. So I wanted to lighten them up.
The frame rail will have body mounts attached to top. But the stiffener fits just tight around the box. Overkill? Yeah, but this is my idea, and I am doing all of this work, to a part nobody (but you on here) will ever see.
