Resoldering your driver's side master control is my guess.

As we say here in MA... you smaht! Or like the rest of us you love these Jeeps way too much. My passenger window control now works! If it were my gf speaking this is the #1 modification I've made to the XJ so far.

That is only cause when I first bought my '00 the passenger side windows could not be rolled down by anybody but me. Research led me to believe that it was the window lock button and I watched the video where the guy resolders everything.

I said screw that and just bought another one. LOL.

Found a Liberty rear end with disc brakes on CL today... crossing my fingers I'll be picking it up this weekend. Cheapest way so far to get the backing plates without junkyards near me. Only thing is there is ABS on the liberty... I don't have ABS. Can anyone confirm I shouldnt have a problem just deleting?

Thanks Veeb0rg. I just saw a newer youtube video 3/19 of a guy going thru the disc brake conversion and he too reassured me. It's nice to see new stuff popping up.

Anyhow... another day, another rear end in the back of the jeep... I'll be disassembling this tomorrow. Shame the shafts aren't the same size for the XJ or I'd gladly keep them, afraid nobody will have any use for this once I'm done pillaging it and will be sent off to scrap.

This weekend I ripped up the carpet to see what this summer had in store for me. Turns out it's not awful but about what I expected... I took a video tour for y'all so you can see for yourself. This guy is going to lear how to weld this summer =]

I'm not sure how worried I should be about that crossmember under the floor so if anyone has any experience with that I'd be glad to hear about it

You might have a water leak on the passenger side that's causing that much rust. Was the carpet wet?

You and me both. Just picked this up. Might want to see if you can figure out if water is getting in there before you fix it though.

You bet it was wet. Definitely haven't ruled out a leak as a possibility. Now with the carpet out, I can do a hose test. Going to spray down door, windshield, and cowl area to see if anything drips in. I think a lot of the existing moisture came right up thru the holes and the rust seems to have come from the bottom where the spot welds were on the frame rail or where the crossmember met the floor pan. If I'm lucky, there won't be a leak.

Looks like a nice machine! I'll be borrowing a friends for now... Carpet won't be going back in until I know for sure she's water tight.

Turns out, I'm not as dedicated to being under the jeep this summer... Regardless, I've done a few things that needed to be done starting with the AC system. From the beginning I'v had no AC and an over-cycling compressor. Last month I decided to add some freon/dye and see what happens. What happened? Glorious AC is what happened! Kicked myself for not doing it sooner...

A week later and I was back to no AC AND my compressor bearing was making a racket! I brought it down the street to evac the system and ended up getting free service since the owner was a Ham radio operator and saw my antenna =] He did a vacuum test and it supposedly held a vacuum... idk about that. I bought a new compressor and installed with new o-rings, will be going to get it charged and we will see what happens.

I finally patched the floor pans, good riddance.

Good update. I futzed with my AC system this year, but never got it working fully. Cool weather is hear now, so I've punted the issue to next spring....

Great minds think alike, I love procrastinating! Seriously though, I've got parts for many projects lined up I've just not wanted to pick up the wrench this summer. We will see what happens once the system is charged. I'm convinced I have a leak somewhere although the black light test showed nothing... which tells me the leak will be in the dash if it exists, so hopefully that's not your issue as well.

Mine has held a charge all summer, works for like 10 mins then nothing.... I guessing something more electrical than charge related.
