Ok so as an early graduation present my parents got me a lift and tires. I decided to go with the rough country series II 3 inch lift. For tires I went with Dick Cepek FCII's. I have a few pics but their from my phone. I dropped it off at the mechanics last nigh to get it all installed and he called today to say that they sent the wrong u-bolts. The new ones should be in on Wednesday and then it will be all finished up. When that happens I will put up some new pictures from the good camera.

Ok sorry I haven't posted picture of the jeep. I have been pretty busy and it has slipped my mind. The lift rides a little rough but it is much better than it used to be. The tires are great, they look good and stop well. All in all it is awesome. There is only one problem. When I hit a bump there is a knock from the rear end. I checked but there is no rubbing or parts hitting. My dad made sure that my rear swaybar stayed on so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Ok so this is my super duper I've been lazy and haven't updated anything update. This will chronicle everything I have done over the last eight months, all the picture are from my phone, new and old, so sorry about the quality. To start I replaced my battery after it nearly blew up my electrical system. I was thinking of going with an odessy or some other crazy battery but decided other things would need to be fixed/replaced so save that money for them. I went with an Interstate green.

With a new battery I was able to install my new goodies (and drive without having to worry I was going to have an electrical problem).

At the beginning of the summer my family moved. Instead of hiring a moving company my parents paid my brother, our friends, and me to take care of everything other than the major furniture, which we did get a moving company for. With this money and the money I made doing other jobs I was able to buy a winch and an OBA kit.

The winch is a rugged ridge 8,500 with the synthetic rope. I went with the synthetic because a friend has the metal line and it truly messed up my hands once. I've used it a time or two and it has been great no problems. I really like it and it completes the look of the front end, no more hillbilly jaw look.

The OBA kit is a VIAIR Super Duty. I contemplated a hundred ways to mount it and place everything and decided to make a bracket and mount it where the spare tire normally sat. The bracket is 1 inch aluminum angle iron and the floor is 20 gauge steal. Everything bolted together and this is one thing I actually got a good photo set of. The kit is awesome and runs great. I used it a couple of times to fill tires and it does the job fast and it does it well.

I was able to finish this all up before august when I left for college. Unlike most colleges I was able to have my baby on campus. Not much happened other than I ran through three O2 sensors. One of them just ripped right out. Other that these little repairs I haven't done any major add ons.

Fast forward to Christmas. As I drove home from Vermont I had very little visibility through my back window because a 31 inch spare was in the way. So what did I want for Christmas, a roof rack so that the tire could get out of my trunk and I could have some rear cargo room. I contemplated many racks. I posted on here about whether to go with a warrior rack and got no response. That was as good as everyone replying because the fact that there wasn't one post means that people really don't have them. I had it narrowed down to the Kargo Master or if santa did exist maybe I would get a Garvin Wilderness rack. Well santa is real because I got the Garvin rack. It looks great and holds the tire really well. I took it out for a spin and you cant even feel any resistance (top heaviness on the other hand can be felt).

As it sits now there probably wont be any major updates for a while. I have a whole CB system that I have been piecing together and all I need is the antenna now. I will also probably get a hi-lift with the gift cards I got for Christmas. The next major plans are really big, expensive, and in the very distant future. A 2 inch budget lift on top of my current lift trimmed fenders, 35 inch tires, and a hack'n'tap for the 242. Those are a pipe dream right now but eventually they will happen. I hope to do more wheeling now that I'm all set. I've done a little but not nearly as much as I want.

Looks really good. How is the gas mileage now. I am going with a 3" lift in the next couple of months. Just curious.

my gas mileage was at about 16-17 with the bumpers and the new tires and lift brought it down to 15-16. Don't know what the rack will do to that. I love it at 3 inches but i plan on bigger. 3 inches looks really sharp and like it should have been the stock height.

Ok so I got the hi-lift the other day. With all of the gift card from christmass and the holidays the jack was free as was all the hardware to build the mount. I got the black version because thats what Cabela's had, and for free I'm not complaining. The brackets are made out of simple hardware that I picked up at home depot. I also picked up a cable lock so that no one can just unscrew it from the rack.

I also figure I would throw up some pics of the jeep outside with everything on it.

I ordered a 81mm ammo chest to put on the roof. I plan on cleaning it up and then bolting it to the roof rack, behind the tire. I will put all of the stuff in the milk crate on it. I also relocated the amp to under my back seat so that the only thing in my trunk is going to be the sub and air kit.

Ok so little update. I got the 81mm ammo chest and threw that up on the roof. It has everything from trunk in and its such a nice feeling to have a trunk again. I'll have a pic of that up later.

I also got to use my winch. The weather has been relatively nice up here, 30's-40's. This caused all the snow to melt and turn to ice. My friends 2wd sedan got stuck so I gave him a winch out

Ok so time for another mega update on the jeep.

Finally got her out and some pictures took her to spring fling and played in the mud.

Done a lot of trail riding but no pics.

Then over break I did a lot of work. First I built a custom sub box so I could get my trunk back.

So I know the pictures aren't to good of the sliders but I wasn't able to get to many. I finished their install on Friday. Saturday (today) I left to go back up to college. Its a 7 hour drive and because I can't drive during the dark I only had like 9 hours to do it, so I set out early. When I was switching from one highway to the next I hit an ice patch and lost control of the jeep. At 50 mph I slid off the road, slammed into a earthen embankment, did a crazy flip/roll and came to a stop. I was perfectly fine but my baby wasn't. It took the damage like a champ and kept me safe but the jeep is totaled. I'm lucky I wasn't hurt but Its sad to lose the jeep.

The car is beyond repair. The whole front end is messed up, rear glass shattered, doors pinned (I had to kick mine open to get out), and the roof rack ripped off the top during the roll. The bumpers, sliders, and roof rack all helped protect me. Even with the passenger fender blown in, the bumper held its shape. The guys at JCR say their stuff is tough as nails but if there is ever any proof this has to be it. So now I'm looking for a new jeep to build again.

THE JEEP IS DEAD

LONG LIVE THE JEEP
