Once mine is back in the garage, we will tackle:
1. Mid stiffener install
2. Cross bracing to the 2x6 prepping for semi boat sides
3. head liners
4. Try to make a poly tank from a 98 work on a 1994
5. reinstall the flares
I took the sway bar off this weekend so I could install some QD's and ditch the rough country sway bar drop brackets and decided to test out the suspension on my 30" ditch in the front yard. Not too bad, but I'm going to have some rub on the inner rear fender wells due to the narrow track. I'll have to figure out how to fix this.
I finally got Unidentifiedbomb's Rusty out of my garage and finished painted her, cleaned the garage and got Old Blue back where she belongs. I have several projects coming up in the following days. Stay tuned!
I got the 97+ donor headliner all cleaned up last night and ready for the new fabric. (lumber jack plaid) MANLY! I find that a shop vac with a brush attachment works amazing for clean up on these with the rotted foam.
I got the fender flares cut to my liking and have started on the rear quarter cut and fold. I know most people scrap the flares, but I think mine looks better with something on there since my Heavy steel bumper sticks out on the sides.
Here's a photo of the front flare mocked up. I will take them off and repaint both sides to my specs. I goofed up the first go around. I used a dremel and shaping saw style wood carving attachment to cut the flares.
SIDE PROJECT! I picked up some JKU seats for 100 bucks off our Jeep club classifieds. I will be mocking these up and installing them in the next week. With lots of pictures so others can, if they want to, do the same.

Rear bench is a good fit. Not sure about the fold flat feature. SHould at least be fold almost flat when I'm done.
Looking totally awesome. My leather seats in my 01 limited are getting long in the tooth. So after seeing this there is a person I know selling their leather JK seats. I see inside winter project to make up tracks and rails.

'99-'04 WJ should be a direct swap, only mod is changing over your old track to the WJ seat. That being said, I'm having a helluva time finding decent leather WJ seats. If you're wandering the junk yards the 10th digit on the VIN will be X,Y,1,2,3,4 corresponding to the appropriate year, 99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04.
Having said all that, I do like this guys seats, if only I had better fab skills

As of right now the front seats are tight, but doable. The rear bench will require extensive reinforcement from the under side of the vehicle to function as intended IE using part of the bench as a harness point for the center shoulder belt etc. I'm about to start the fab work tonight and will post up some progress tomorrow. It will require a "strap" under the jeep to reinforce the brackets, the same as the OEM front seats use, but much larger.
