Got 99 problems but a b.... Well, you get the idea! haha.

I miss riding my bike. It's an 03 Ninja ZX6R (636cc). It's not running at the moment, and I'm not 100% sure why. I think it needs to have the gas tank cleaned out and coated, and a new fuel pump.

If I can get it running, I wanna sell it and dump that money into the XJ lol.

Ok, so it's been a while since I've updated anything. I haven't done a whole heck of a lot, but here's a couple details.

-Upgraded to the V8 ZJ tie rod system, all moog parts.
-Putco H4 headlight wiring upgrade, with IPF housings and PIAA bulbs.
-I also swapped out the sway bar bushings with some Moog rubber bushings. No more clunks over speed bumps.

I think that's pretty much the extent of it. I don't have a ton of pictures, but will try to get what I do have posted fairly soon here. They are on my dad's camera so I gotta get him to send them to me.

Finally a big update coming! I ordered a tire carrier bumper for the hind quarters last night! I got an email saying delivery is about 3 weeks out from the manufacturer at this time, so it'll be a little while but I'll try to remember to take loads of photos of the install.

I didn't go the China route for this, but decided to save up as long as possible and purchased a bumper designed and built here in the USA. I'm honestly most excited about getting the spare tire out of my cargo area!

The bumper came in!! Looking like the install will be on 1/23. I'm in the process of moving and that Sat is the first Sat after we have to be out of our old apartment. In the meantime, here's a pic of the old girl in the snow on Mt Laguna!

Thanks for the kind words! I am planning to take as many pics of the bumper install as I can. There's a distinct lack of forum posts related to the RH4x4 XJ tire carrier bumper, so I'd like to be able to give an honest to goodness review: The build quality, the power coating, the ease of installation, etc...

Oh I can't wait to see this. I got a nice bumper of craigs list. I decided to make these to help support mine. They slide into the frame rail and sandwich in between the mounting plate. I bet the bumper your getting already made provisions to support the extra weight.

Great work. I really like your 'do it once, do it right' approach. Taking notes for my own 2 door I just picked up!

Oh those are pretty cool! The new bumper I got (I THINK) mounts into the stock bumper holes as well as the holes used for the factory hitch. I haven't actually even SEEN the bumper since taking delivery, so I'm not 100% sure on that. This waiting game is killing me! lol

Thank you! I keep trying to remind myself to "buy once, cry once" so I don't end up having to re-do anything in the future! Post up a pic of your new 2 door! I'd love to see it!

If you start a new thread on the install please post a link on your thread to it.

I actually hadn't thought of making a separate install thread for the bumper. Do you think I should make a separate thread or just keep the install for the bumper in this build thread?

Both
Honestly I would do a detailed thread to share your thoughts on the bumper,(especially if it's a good experience) and included parts of it in your build thread with a link.
