99 Nick Named "Purple People Eater"
After recently selling my 99 Ford ranger prerunner to buy a xj, I found a 99 4d in great shape. I picked up the jeep with the plans of making it into a rig of all trades. DD, Camping, Desert, and Rock. Im on a limited budget but I can fab alot of the stuff on my own so that will bring down the costs considerably.
Open for criticism. Its my first jeep but not my first offroad project.
Parts planned:
rc 4.5 long arm kit with sye/ds
custom cross over heim steering
custom tube front and rear bumpers with winch mount and tire swing out
custom roof rack with front light bar and rear facing lights
custom frame plating front to rear
custom tranny armor
custom steering box brace
33x10.5-15's on ar-23 wheels with fender trimming and rear quarter cut and fold
4.56 gears with lunch box locker in the front undecided on rear
beef up the dana 30 housing, add diff covers (probably ruffstuff)
Ill add more as i think of it lol
Some pictures of the jeep stock doing some poser flex shots with front and rear sway bars still under it
And some of the roof rack going together

More pictures of the rack.
Have four China Kragen hids for the front and two flood pattern RI dually LED copys for the rear.
The rack is all mild steel tubing a mix of .090 and .060 tubing and 1/8 flat strap.
Has both mounts going to the factory holes for the stock rails and gutter mounts.
Painting it is todays project the primer is drying as im posting this thread.

Roof rack is all painted and put on. just need to install the gutter mounts. Going to wait to install the lights intill I actually have a use for them.
Spent all day today cleaning the unibody for frame stiffiners and turning 1/8"x6" flat stock into frame stiffiners. Could have bought some but I have way more time and tools then I do money. got one section on the drivers side fitted and welded in.
