99 Jeep Cherokee Project
Hey guys I just purchased a Jeep 99 for 2200$ with 137k miles, auto, 4x4 ,4.0L. I really wanted to see how much trouble it would be to slap some mods on this truck. Just wanted some advice on to what is the best lift kit I can purchase. I am looking for a lift of about 3-4 inches, and really wanted to keep a smooth/stock ride to the truck. I have lowered many vehicles in the past and for the most part many times the ride of the vehicle goes to hell.
Sorry for no pics I will post them soon.

Any time you modify the suspension it is going to change the ride. The more you lift the more it will change. You can over come this with lots of $$$$$ and time.

SO if i was to just add about 3", I figure I can keep the quality of the rid the same? I can spend up to 2k for a decent lift kit. I just want to do it right, I have done to many project where the owner wanted to go cheap and at the end didn't like the results. Can you guys point me in the right directions about what top quality brands are out there for jeep lift kits.

The Rubicon Express 3.5 is one of the most complete and higher quality. For a good ride stick with the super ride kit too. OME also have good kits. Those are the two I'd look at. People also like Rough Country kits but I have no personal experiance with them on an XJ. Had one on a full size Bronco and it was nice.
