Hmmm..... I'm thinkin' the halo would make that difficult as well, but I see your point. How are you planning on make the roof "retractable"? Whether your doing a roof-chop or retractable, I'd definitely say stick with the interior cage.

The retractable roof is literally a 3'x6' hole in the roof with a marine canvas cover (sides are sealed, sort of like a soft tonneau cover) that slides back. Like I said, it'd still be possible with a hybrid cage, just harder to operate. The more I think on it the more I lean to a full interior cage, but I want some other brains picking at it to see what's possible.

Ok, yeah I know what you're talking about. I think the halo would make it a little more difficult to operate, but probably just to the point that a surprise rain would make your interior a little wet... still quicker than a Wrangler or CJ with the top off though.

I think all really depends on how high I design the halo off the roof. If it's a good 2" above the roof I don't think it would interfere with the retractable roof, but it'll look kinda funky too.

Yeah, maybe.... just do a lot of thinking on it before you do anything. If you know a plumber, "borrow" a bunch of PVC and do a mock-up.

Ever since I installed my snorkel and replaced the stock in-fender windshield washer reservoir with an older pod-style one, I've had the joy of constantly seeing this wonderful "LOW WASHER" yellow glow every time I drive the Jeep. It's annoying, and today I had some time and said, "Enough of the incessant yellow light!"

So apart came the dash. Thankfully 97+ dashes are easy to take apart (at least the driver side that is) and after a couple minutes and a few loosened screws, along with the unplugging of my auxiliary light switches, I was staring at this.

4 more screws, a tug, a wiggle, another tug, and voila!, gauge cluster removed!

Popped the retaining clips and had full access to my gauge lights. Pulled out that annoying bulb and now I can drive without being harassed by that infernal yellow light.

That's what I need then. A 95s is on the passenger side and a ZJ one was just a bit too big.
Love the jeep too, you helped me take all my doors off and you're only about 3 hours south of me

It's not a great picture, but you can get the idea. Look right behind the airbox (up against t he fender) and that's the style washer reservoir I snagged out of the 94. It's tight fit, but it works fine.
