Everything went well. And put strobe lights in. You can go to my YouTube channel to see them. My channels called codyyyandadammm
Bled my brakes. And timed it alotte better, but my transfer case likage is messed up. I went to test out 4lo and now I can't go back in 2wd. I can go in 4 part time and 4 full time bit that's all, if I push it all the way down its in 4 part time. Please help!

^First thing I would suggest is spray the linkage with a hose, preferrably powerwasher. Then try and move the lever.
If it still wont disengauge, then get under there again and try and move the linkage manually, with a helper inside, while YOU visually inspect the linkage movement. If you notice it binding, even slightly, clean thoroughly, replace pivot grommets on linkage if necessary, lube with high temp chassis grease.
If that doesnt work...
You can pull off the linkage from the 4wd shift lever from underneath the car, by popping a pin on the linkage, out of a rubber or plastic grommet on the shift handle lever under the jeep.
From there you move the linkage through the available gear train options (2hi, 4hi, N, 4lo for command trac) until you find 2hi.
If you cant get the thing into 2wd this way, then there is a problem internally. Find a rebuilt transfercase. Hope this helps.

Why is it that my xj has so much more power than my zj but the engine came out of my zj, I'm confused.

The lever is used to pull the 2wd/4wd fork to 4wd. A spring is used to push the fork back to 2wd after the level is already in 2wd. There needs to be no binding in the drivetrain for the spring to push the fork and slip the gears over the shaft when they mesh. If your spring is week or gone your case will get stuck in 4 wheel. Try getting up to 20mph on a gravel road driving strait. while rolling immediately put the transmission in neutral then push the t case shifter to 2wd.
That all being said, its possible your linkage is out of adjustment and may not be going all the way to the first position.

I6: 3,357*lb = xj curb weight and approximately 177 hp with the original 4.0 engine (1988-91 i think)
what you feeling is a new power to weight ratio. The xj weighs 200lbs less and Has the motor with 20 more horsepower... So noww....
Your jeep is using one horsepower to pull 17.66lbs
Your old motor used one horse power to pull nearly 19lbs if my calculations are correct..
Doesnt seem like much, but it is.
Lol I actually learned something in school! What do ya know?

Well I traded the DJ a while back for a 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 auto. Power everything and now I'm regretting it, even though I got a smoking deal, someone wants to trade me a 96 xj, with a 3.5" lift and 33s, I might take him up on this offer..
