i just bought a 1994 cherokee country.

the rockers are rusty and the edges of the floor pan is starting to rust thru..although everything else is solid.

oh and how did you do your rockers..i love it!

yanno i should start my own thread..as i am a proud owner of a badass jeep!

Basically where the rocker kicks out under the door I cut a straight line all along that then welded the 2x6 to that. there is also a large square nut and bolt that comes inside the rocker that wont all the 2x6 to sit even with the door unless you cut off the bolt flush with the nut. If iI had seen the rocker replacement mini boatside write up earlier i would have done mine that way.

Picked up 5 JK wheels for 150 and painted them gunmetal. Then I used the spidertrax adapters to mount them. The Font sits a little low but I'll be making a rear tire carrier which should help.

Hella 500s and and Rampage H4 conversion.

Rear bumper has tieins about as long as the side protection.

My front bumper was made by Jayfab lol. Did you really have him send it to you? I know he does local business, didn't know he shipped his stuff too!

My wife is from the area. She picked the front bumper and roof rack up on her way to my parents house before she came to Japan to visit me. When I separated from the Navy I flew to DTW where she picked me up and I swung by Jayfab to pick up the rear. Worked out well. I was going to go with JCR stuff but they started using bent sheet 3/16 instead of using tubing. Jayfab is much closer for local pickup too. Plus I like how the side protection we came up with on the rear cut and fold bumper matches the rest of the armor.

I'd love to see some pictures so I can get a better idea of this. I need new rockers. Also, do you have a link to this 'mini boatside' write up? Sorry, I'm pretty new to Jeeps, I stick to cars

Thanks. Yeah all the national forests in the area are very appealing. Skyline drive is cool too. I think were going to look around here by Shepherdstown also. Job hunting will be much easier living where we want to work. I always liked the area plus my friends and family are here which is nice after 5 years in the Navy. Good wheeling too!

You may want to check near Richmond, the west side. Still close to make wheeling a day trip, but may be closer to jobs.

Your XJ is clean. Very nice. I just started to dig in to my 95 XJ and plan to start a build thread soon.

I'd also like to see more detailed pics of the roof rack- I like the simplicity of the design and envisioned doing something simular. Maybe include your camping gear/tent plans... I get the impression that you may be doing an RTT (?)

you've convinced me to go ahead with the bedliner on a black jeep, it looks great! i've been looking everywhere trying to find a black jeep with the bedliner from the mid line down, and your posts showed exactly what i was looking for. i have a black 98 two door 5 speed with a couple rust issues like yours, so your pictures sure helped. look forward to seeing more. Thanks I was going for the clean rugged look. My plan is to set up a simple sleep platform over the rear footwell. After feeling the drag of a spare tire up there I can't imagine how the RTT would feel. Their pretty expensive too. I should be able to post pics of it tomorrow. The idea I have is pretty simple. The foam for the mattress was only $79 on overstock!

"deployed. ordering parts." I was In your shoes a few months ago. It was nice coming home and having everything waiting. Monstaliner is the way to go. I did the recommended 2 coats on the body new rockers and both bumpers with 1 gallon. If you buy it from ebay shipping is included.
