Unsure what to call this build yet but i have a 1997 jeep xj i picked up runs good and all but unibody frame is rotted to hell in the rear. i also have a 1996 ford ranger that has a bad tranny. was thinking to take cab and front clip off and gut the engine and trans and get ranger front diff off so i can keep solid axle. so when i get that all stripped my next step would be removing rear windows and rear hatch from cherokee and remove fuel tank so i can cut the back section off. what im wondering is what is recommended way for mounting cherokee "crew cab" shell to ranger body? should i weld the unibody to ranger frame or fabricate mounts like the ranger cab has? im leaning towards second idea but wondering what you fellas think. i dont have pictures yet but will upload and try to take pictures as i go i am bad at filming or picture taking while im working.
