I was towing my jeep from Tennessee to Florida and did not disconnect my drive shaft (like an idiot) now I believe my rear end has gone out wife said I could turn it into a mud toy (yay) looking for suggestions on where to start with a new rear end and lift kits. any other ideas for this project? ( not a huge budget but got plenty of time to save up if need be)

 

It is sure to have a Dana 35 rear end. You could upgrade to a Dana 44A which will bolt in. There will be nay sayers on this, but it is the only one that bolts in. Lunch box locker is available and gears up to 4.56
