96 2dr XJ (Mall Krawler)
ok I actually found a jeep I am excited about building. I have always wanted a 2dr cherokee and honestly...so far..I am loving it! its nice to be able to "fit" thru the door of a cherokee! lol Anyway I have been tinkering and patiently waiting for the lift parts so I figured I would throw up some pics. When it came time to get it, I had no way to trailer. Thanks to one of our newest online guys (TDYE522) Travis, I got it trailored from Jeff city.
When we got it back to Blue springs it was raining, but i was eager to get the rotten tires off of it so I could take it for a spin. So I started switching tires. It has a crappy 4in lift so I thought the 33's on rubi's would work. So I tossed them on.
So anyhoo....drove it to gas station and it kinda wobbled....next day went to go to work....and man it sucked! It was all over road and death wobble is an understatement!!!!!!! People just don't like it when 20mph is all I can do on 40hwy! So I got to thinking....4in lift...I wonder if my 35's would fit? I put in garage and slapped them on. Can't wheel that way, but for now it gets me around. So I thought. went to back out of garage and smacked the luggage rack on garage door. so (since I'm lazy and didnt want to pull tires off again, I deflated them. Then backed out and aired back up. Went to pull out of drive way and couldn't turn...at all! totally stuffed the front tires against fenders!
so I freaked...I called everyone I could think of that might be able to help. I thought I'd just cut fenders and be done.....all I had was a grinder wheel so I got started and, well lets say...I hacked the crap out of it!. Lucky for me...audioguy1 came by today and fixed my fubar. Big thanks to you man! I should pay you more too! lol
and here is finished product.....he even beat in the inners so I wouldn't slice my tires up!
Next is to cut rears, clearence the bumpers and tuck rear quarter panels. Took it out after Chris left, and man! night and day!! Actually did a u-turn without rubbing at all. Big thanks again man! I am very pleased and can't wait to do more to it.

anyone on here close to KC? I am looking to have a rear bumper/tire swing built. I don't know how to weld so at the mercy of others. The guy who did the metal work on my G.I.JOE Urban Assalt Vehicle moved....man I miss that XJ! Here are some pics of it:

lol yeah...It was a blue xj with lime green, yellow, and orange parts. he painted everything in goofy colors. said he wanted everyone to remember his jeep. So I had to change that!!! figured camo was easiest.

well started to trim rear of my heep XJ...I have never done this before so hopefully I did it right. Thanks audioguy1 for the advice! And Jodee for the moral support (he stood there and watched!)
made vertical cuts in between the spot welds, then bent over tabs and hammered up.
finished...no tire
with tire back on....seems to open things up a bit.
next is to remove that tube bumper thingy and cut and tuck rear quarters!

I am ready to make first run on dec 11th for the wheeling for toys event. So excited to get back on the trails!!!!
