Default '94XJ: Craigslist build

This is my second Cherokee, first Jeep build. My jeep and almost all of it's parts thus far, have been bought on Craigslist. This has been slow going project, fixing her up as the means are available. I started with the cosmetic and then moved on to the engine.

Pre-Craigslist

Craigslist.

Post-Craigslist

My water-pump went out and that lead to the replacement of the Exhaust manifold, which motivated me to go ahead and replace the gaskets and do a full tune up.

I replaced the gasket under the Cylinder head and I thought I'd read that the pistons need to be in a particular place when you put the head back on. But I have both manuals and I've searched through them both and I can't find any information on it. Anyone have any ideas?

I got a set of Rock sliders and they'll be going on soon. Also you can expect to see a lift kit coming this ways.

I can't help you with the cylinder head reassembly question. As long as your timing hasn't changed, I've never heard of any top end needing the piston in any arrangment when reassembling.

I love the idea of the craigslist finds build. I am always scouring kijiji (canada's craigslist) for new ideas and parts.

Good luck!!
