Could've gone around but figured I might as well use the winch

Having some issues. I've got a rough idle, backfiring when I accelerate, loss of power. It seems to get better after driving for a bit. Brand new dist cap and rotor, TPS. The fuel pump, plugs and wires and CPS are within 7-9 months old. Not sure what to do. Don't want to replace the CPS or fuel pump again but it's getting worse every day. Anyone have any ideas? I've cleaned the IAC fairly recently as well.

Pull the electrical plugs on the injectors and clean the contacts. Had the same issue with my 94.

Mine were corroded and not getting good continuity.

Start it, let it idle. Pull one plug off an injector at a time. The idle should change when you pull the electrical plug. If you pull one and nothing changes then the chances are your issue is with that injector.

Thanks I will try that. I checked the fuel pressure and it was at 31 psi with the FPR vaccumn line attached and 40 with it off so pressure is good.

Turns out the electrode insulator was cracked on cylinder 1s spark plug. Fresh plugs and wires and runs fine again.

Glad you got it figured out, I like simple fixes.

Need to get some door seals for mine as well. I've been going through and replacing worn out items on my XJ in order to breathe some new life into it. Sometimes the smaller, overlooked items make all the difference.

Hasn't been much going on lately. I'm losing coolant from somewhere but the not too bad. Other than that been exploring some state Forest roads when I have a chance to.

Steering alignment keeps getting goofed up and it's eating up my front tires bad. Wanted to get a cavfab or iron rock setup but I'm thinking about trying to save for a wrangler so I bought some moog V8 ZJ stuff to make it a bit stronger on the cheap. $98 with free two day shipping on amazon.

Got I aligned last Friday and finally swapped out a blown front passenger side shock. It had been leaking for well over a month and was doing almost nothing.

Replaced a leaking water pump this morning and then took it out with the doors to have some fun. Shiny...
