Ok so this is my first jeep, i hav a 1994 jeep cherokee 2 door 4.0 ho 5 speed 4x4 that i just purchased today for 2 grand, i hav owned other 4x4s b4 but am looking to build this myself. Its going to hav to be somewhat of a budget build because i hav to kids. I want to purchase the rough country 4.5 inch lift for around 500, buy the sye and the drive shaft. but i want at least two more inches, i was looking at 2.25 in coil spacers on the front, but what do i do to the back, everyone says no blocks, and the lift comes with add a leaf?? If u have better ideas send them this way, please help and sorry if i sound stupid i dont know much about this

for the rear build a bastard pack with S10 leaves (use you XJ main leaf, cut the eyes off the S10 main and bolt the pack up, throw the AAL in if you want and ditch the overload)
that will give you 4-4.5" then get a 2" shackle for 6-6.5"
a hack-n-tap SYE is like $100-200 and then you can use an XJ front DS in the rear, cheap in the JY and you only need one spare then

When I started to look into a lift I was going to get the RC 3", then decided to make my own, then decided its to much trouble to track down everything of the right makes/years.
So now I am going to get the 4.5 Zone lift, an RC adjustable track bar, the a grand cherokees pitman arm for some drop and the gc's beefier tie rod and sway bar. When the AAL wears out I will buy a new full leaf pack.
That will cost me about $520 for the lift, $110 for the adjustable track bar, and like $20 at the JY
If you do ALOT of shopping and watch for used or really cheap parts I'm sure you could build the lift kit for cheaper.
Kit includes:
4.5 Lift front coils and bump stops
Curved lower control arms
Longer sway bar links
The 4 shocks
2" rear shackles
Transfer case drop brackets
Brake line relocation brackets
The LONG AAL's for the back
New u-bolts
