94 Daily mild trail rig build
Last winter is picked up a 94 xj for $1500. Already had a bit larger tires, good tcase, new floors and rockers, and trimmed fenders. Wasn't bad. However come the find out it had multiple water leaks, the previous owner sealed the new floors with foam.. Not a sealant.. And spray bombed inside and out of the floors. Needless to say surface rust developed quick.. So here is what I did to fix that mess up and everything else I've done over the last year

Got sick of all the water leaks pooling on my floor and starting rust so I ended up siliconing around the blower and heater core and along the body seams in the engine bay as well as a small leak in the rear buy the top of the lift gate. I coated the floors with POR15

Got around to putting the headliner back in today and I'm content with how it looks. Ordered brakes, blower resistor, door jamp switches, new trunk shocks, and the tie rod end that's loose which pretty much sums up the issues it has. Then the lift will come

There was 165k on it when I got it,168k now. Haven't driven it much.
It was $35 worth of fabric and a can of 3m heavy duty adhesive. Took me about 2 hrs

A while back I ordered a half gallon of eat wood rust converter and one of their spray can and a case of 3m rubberized under coating and went over the undercarriage. Wirewheeled everything to get the surface rust off and went to town. I ended up not even using a whole pint of rust converter to do the whole under side. The stuff worked fantastic. The case of 3m coating was just enough for the bottom and the wheel wells. After all that I sprayed down the undercarriage with fluidfilm for some added protection.

And I got my woman a sewing machine for Christmas and she finished up my headliner project by sewing some sleeves that slid right over the sun visors. That turned out pretty sweet for her first try

Very proud of this picture.. This is the first time since I've owned it that the hatch stays open by itself.. New shocks put in a new rubber felpro valve cover gasket that was leaking and fixed my filler neck that leaked whenever I filled with fuel.
I am starting to develope death wobble which is fantastic... Not put a new pitman arm tie rod end on Monday then waiting for the lift to come which will replace most of my suspension. Hopefully I'll eliminate my wobble

THE LIFT IS ORDERED! hopefully it will get done this weekend. If got a couple things taken care of though.
Tested out my rockers on the lift. All the doors open and closed with ease so they hold solid.
I finally did my rear brakes. Need the manually adjust them a little still. The parking brake doesn't adjust them much
Anddd I did the tie rod end at the pitman arm. Steering feels great now. Need to do an alignment but I figured I'd wait for the lift to come
And just for kicks my bosses amazingly clean xj country. License plate "nvrdrty"... Never dirty.. Kinda anti jeep but its nice
