Got the tires mounted and went to Big Creek yesterday. It was very slick thanks to the rain we've had this past week. Tires did OK at best. I could tell a difference just because they were taller but, as for traction, There wasn't noticeable improvement. I'll go back out there when it's dry and I expect different results.

Damage report from yesterday includes:
Passenger ball joints
Axle side track bar mount
Front fenders damaged due to tire rub
Drag link safety washer at knuckle was rubbing the wheel

So, I've ordered the following:
Reid passenger knuckle
high steer arm
Studs/hardware
TRE for high steer
Hockey pucks (for front bump stops)

Lot of things played against you on Saturday for it to be a good judge of performance.

IROKS = ISUCKINMUD
Larger Rolling Diameter is screwing up your Gear Ratio and Torque
Your D60 is Open in the Rear VS Your Old Welded One
Air Pressure was't dialed in for traction

BUT THE JEEP LOOKS SICK!!!
Especially in Person

So I say drop the air pressure lower, to like 6psi for the next trip and SEND IT!

Tires were at 5psi this trip. There’s plenty of power at 4.88 and 39s. Friday night I drifted around a traffic light as I left Hops in Burlington. Power isn’t the issue. Getting the tires to clear out and stick is what I need. Next trip I’m debating leaving the valve cores out of the stems. The open rear is hurting me off road but is far better on road. A 35 spline spool is $100 and I’m debating with myself on that. It’s that or $900 for an ARB.

Pulling the valve cores could work, but are you worried about riding directly on the stuans?

ARB is of course where you need to be, it’s just about what do you do before you get there. What about a mini spoil so you don’t have to set the gears back up?

Not worried about the stauns. I haven’t seen anyone make a mini spoil for d60s.

Where did you get those seats from? Were they pretty straigtforward to mount to the existing stock seat brackets?

I picked them up used locally. They are Corbeau Baja Ultras. I made mounting tabs and welded them to the factory sliders. I had a Corbeau mount and sliders but they made the seats sit very high. The factory sliders aren't as sturdy but function just fine for me since the seat is all the way back against the B pillar.

I imagined that most after market seats would need to be fabbed in one way or another. Cool I like the way they look and probably comfortable as well!

This past Saturday I stripped down the front axle to replace the ball joints and install a Reid knuckle for high steer. A new axle side track bar mount will be going on as well.

Last night I stripped down the driver knuckle to replace the ball joints. Those should arrive today. I also built the track bar and new axle side mount. The track bar is pretty short (27.5") but it fits. It's also not perfectly parallel to the drag link but it's closer than it was. It's right at 2.5 degrees off from the drag link. For the time being I'm just going to use the RE frame side mount I had. I will be replacing it once I order the front frame stiffeners and I'll correct the angle at that time. I'm hoping to finish the whole thing up tonight.

I got the front finished last night. During reassembly of the driver side I discovered that I had stretched the ears on the stub shaft. The full circle clips definitely did their job and didnt allow the joint cap to fall out. I replaced the ujoint and the stub shaft with one of my spares. Chromo stubs are now on the horizon (already have chromo inners).

Picked up 2x6 for rocker replacement. I'm hoping to start cutting away this weekend and to finish it next week. Then I'll bend up the A-pillars and tie them into the rockers.
