Default 89 4.0 ltr in an 88 Cherokee

WE just bought a 89 engine for my son's 88 jeep and we cant get a spark. It turns over, but there is no spark... We've tried everyting... Any ideas?

I'm not sure on that, might try deleting this and putting it in the Cherokee Tech section.

Also try doing a search using the keywords " cherokee no spark" might bring up some helpful info

did you check all the plug connections? also did you check if it actually has spark or are you assuming? it may be the crank positioning sensor if it does have spark. id check to make sure all of my connections are hooked up right
