Default 89 2door xj.

well not much right now just a stock and rough looking 2door xj.

as purchased for $700

first trail rash.

as of now its stock with 30-9.50 Hercules terra tracks.

my plans for now are to get some rims with less backspacing to cure the rub on the lca's. new rockers and doors so it can be rust free again then paint it and rhino line the body line down.

im not sure what way i am going with suspension yet. not sure if i want to go with a full kit or piece one together and do a bastered pack. i guess it depends on what i can find around.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

and hopefully some updates this weekend. i want to get some stuff done to the old girl.

thanks guys. the body work on this is gonna be done on a budget. im gonna try and find some clean jusnk yard doors. aftermarket rocker panel replacements and not sure on the paint yet. im thinking either single stage enamel, tractor paint, or the rust-o-leum paint job. (not rattle canned real paint) but the body work is on the back burner untill i get all the little quirkes taken care of.
found my anti freeze leek today so gonna get that fixed tomarrwo. gonna put my head unit in it so i can have some music when i drive. then this weekend. i think as a temporary stop to the rust untill i can get around to fixing it. i might cut it out and spray bomb from the body line down black just so it dose not spread untill i get around to it.

I paid 750 for my 2 door. Less rust and in better condition overall. Cant wait to see your body work stuff. I just fixed a hole in my floorboard yesterday and am going to fiberglass a spot on my roof.

yeah i got tired of looking for a better deal on a 2 door xj. so i bought this when i found it. in my area xj's are over priced anyway.

and yeah i have plans to lift it just not sure what route i am gonna take yet. i think i am either gonna get a 3-4.5" kit or piece together stuff for the front and do a bastered pack in the back. im just not sure what i want to do yet. the rusty 3" full leaf pack is looking nice right now.

anyone have any opinions on the paint thing?

what is you opinion for a great budget non spray paint. paint job?

ok was at the parts store tonight getting stuff to do the rockers with untill summer when i replace them. and seen some vht nightshades on the shelf so i grabbed it. so this weekend i am gonna be cleaning up from the body line down and painting it flat black to try and slow down the rust spread for a few monthes and blacking out the tails and maybe marker and turn signal lights. it depends on how the tails go.

kinda thinking about flat blacking the whole xj untill summer but it seems like a lot of work just to do it all over again in a few monthes. what do you guys think?

leave it how it is for now. or flat black it?

Cant wait to see everything done. Keep us updated. I am sure you knew this but tinting your tail lights may cause them to be too dim being illegal in some areas. 2 doors rock.
