You can make it work. These are pretty decent transmissions too, not as strong as the ax-15, but much better than the peagot.
well cool. thanx for the answers to my questions. I didn't really know where to search on this particular dilemma. doubt I'd have found the answers from anywhere but from some one with the experience doing similar stuff.

That was a nice looking widetrack!!!

I only plan to put some xj lift shaclkes on the front of it. No need to go any bigger unless i re-gear the axles. 3.31 gears wont turn anything bigger than a 33" very happily.

This is the cherokee i stupidly sold and ended up aquiring this wagoneer. Should have kept it but needed money at the time.

yeah mine paid for a 86 samurai cause gas was at its highest point and 8 miles to the gallon didn't cut it. it was later abandoned towed and then sent to a dismantling yard and is a pile of junk now. that was the first jeep I ever bought on my own. I was so depressed, cause I missed gettin it back from tow yard for 200 bucks bout 3 days.

Got rid of the guage cluster and custom steering wheel for originals. The heater controls are in the guage cluster.

Do you want to get rid of the fuel injection on your 89 xj? Id rather have renix fuel injection than a carb.

The carb is just an untouched holley 390 ordered from summit bolted onto a 4bbl manifold. You have to modify the alingment pins and move the intake up about 3/8" to match the 4.0 head ports.

Had to fix a rear main oil leak on this thing. Its the only seal i didnt replace when the engine was on the stand. That was stupid. Had to drop the oil pan and take the rear main cap off. I was able to slide the upper seal out and in without loosening the other main caps and dropping the crank a little. Now ive been daily driving it.
