Default $400 89 Cherokee Build

Hello everyone,

I recently got myself another cherokee! Picked it up from a friend for $400. Has some sort of lift, told 3inchs and 35 inch tires. Runs drives and stops and will be made a wheeler/daily driver. Definately happy with the start. Until I get some loans paid off, Progress will be fairly slow but definately will happen. The engine has a very random idle, changing speeds very often. So first things first is to get that fixed. Below, I'm going to put a checklist of everything I plan on putting on this rig. As time goes on, I will check things off and update this thread of course! Hope it turns out to be a good one.

Plans:
4.5" LA Kit
33x12.5R15 Procomp xtreme M/T's
15" Black Steel wheels
Ford 8.8 Rearend
4.88 Gears Front and Rear
ARB Air Locker-Rear
Upgraded Axle Shafts-Rear
SYE Kit
Prefab Rear Bumper
Prefab Front Bumper
10,000LB Winch
Roof Basket
Light Bar
HID Retrofit
LED Interior
Rebuild motor or stroker swap(not quite sure yet)
Rebuild trans w/ shift kit

The list will get bigger in time I'm sure but these are the plans for now! Opinions welcome, pics soon!

Ok, pictures still coming later today once it gets light outside. Today, since I've been itching to get to work on this thing but funds are low since I haven't gotten paid in a while, I decided I was going to clean and "de-clutter" the engine bay. Every time I open up the hood it just looks like a big mess and it's driving me crazy. So, the things I'll be doing over the next few days? Well, I'm going to relocate the battery to the rear, clean up the wire situation (including the factory wires), remove the windshield wash tank, build a custom coolant tank and relocate, A/C delete, and then general cleaning. That should clean up a big part of the engine bay in my opinion. Ill take before and after pictures with each different one I do. Coming on Thursday/Friday, I'm going to order a few things to freshen up this rough running 4.0. Already has a bunch of new sensors so I'm going to buy a few that are left, new plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, and all new vacuum hoses. Already has new plugs, new TPS sensor, new IAC sensor, new EGR valve, new fuel filter and a bunch of other random new parts that I can't think of off the top of my head. Pictures with all those installs also.

Took the jeep out on a "test run" today at Walker Valley. Thing did amazing! Not so much as a slight wheel spin on obstacles that I thought might be a little challenging for it but nope, powered through great! Only went up for 3 hours today but planned to go for a full day tomorrow. Headed back up first thing in the morning. Took some pictures on todays trip for y'all. Hope you like.

Yea I know I was getting it for a steal so I ran and got it as soon as I could. Love this thing, took it to Walker Valley for the real test today and it tore the trails up. The best part? Drove it an hour back home after 8 hours of trail riding. LOVE IT!
