just cut lol no reason not too.
as far as heavy duty, rough country is about the standard in heavy duty springs / stiff shocks, and people trim and still stuff them.
youll be fine with 31 x 10.50 on a 15 x 8 4'' or 3.75 bs wheel, and wont rub. If I was you, I'd put a 33 x 12.50 on it, and let the jeep dictate if it wants to be trimmed by using its tires to delete the flares etc. lolll

It all depends on how much you want to trim. Without trimming Id say 32x10.5 or 33x10.5 max and youll still pop your fenders off. Im at 35x12.5x15 KM2s with 3.5" backspacing on a 15x8 with 4-4.5" lift.

My dad has the same lift I do, RC 4.5" with adjustable upper and lowers. He's running 32x10.5s and still has his stock flares. He doesn't rub unless he flexes it pretty good and then it pops off his front flares and he pops them back on. You could just bumpstop to stop that problem

If you dont wanna cut at all, you'll be fine with 32x11.5's..i fit them on my 3.5" lift with 3.5" backspaced wheels and had little no rubbing...and depending on how wide of a stance you want go with 3.75" backspacing for a wide stance or 4-4.5" for a bit narrower stance...but like most said i'd for sure trim and go 33's if it was me...you can trim and still keep your flares, just need to cut the flares a bit and relocate them...i've seen a few do it.

I ran 32's on my 3.5"at with no bumpstopping and didn't rub at all...so with 4.5" he would be plenty fine with 32's...probably could get away with 33's if he trimmed the front of his flares and bump stopped.

I'm talking about being able to fully utilize your suspenion travel (uptravel/downtravel) 4.5 would/should fit 33's with no trimminghowever you wouldn't be able to flex much without trimming, the wheelwells aren't designed for anything larger that a 31" tire.

I understand what your saying...BUT can you imagine how dumb a 31" tire would look on a 4.5" lift? Also if he doesn't want to trim im sure he's not to worried about flex

Im running a rough country 4.5'' lift and 32x11.5's. I have 4 inch backspacing and only had to trim very small pieces inside my fenderwells right behind the tires. No rubbing now.

I'm running the 4.5 inch lift with 33x10.5's and they fit perfect without trimming. If you're going to be doing a lot of flexing, you might want to get after market flares or just trim yours up because I have cut up my tires a little bit and popped off my flares when I went off roading. You really wouldn't want to go any smaller than 32's. I'm already wanting to get some 35s. When you're thinking about the tires, just remember, most people always wish they had bigger tires, not smaller, so go big. 33's are about the biggest you can go anyways with out bigger mods like regearing and aftermarket flares or trimming.
If you want to see some pictures, just look at my build thread.

31's without rubbing..32's with minor rubbing at full lock or when stuffed..33's will rub more than 32's...
I say trim it up and do 33's! I love that setup...its the next step for me lol 3" and 31's, next with be 4.5" & 333's
