Shim opinion
Ok, some opinions please? I took a angle finder, took down some numbers, and need some opinions on axle shims to correct my ugly pinion angle. This is what I got. 5° at the slip yoke at trans case, my driveshaft is at 15*, and the differential pinion is at 12*. I have no SYE, so I'm trying to set it up on a reg slip yoke driveshaft. I have 1.5 drop shackles that has set the pinion pointing up. I guess it would be great if I did have a sye, however I do not. 6* is what I was thinking any opinions?

I'm going to take a minute to kinda vent about this site, it doesn't really matter as no one follows or adds or anything. I'm a 38 yr old female veteran, that has always been a Jeep enthusiast. I've owned two, a 85 2dr 4 cyl 4wd 5 speed, and of course this white 95. While in high school I drove my dad's 78 cj5, which I loved. Several years ago, I became fed up with mechanics taking me for a ride on simple repairs. Which spurred me on to lift a Jeep, which I have never done. My dad convinced me, it would ride rough, and buying tires is hell. Well that puts me to today, I have completely redone my Jeep front to back, all by my own hand. All info being researched and studied. Some of the parts not being the most expensive parts, but all brand name none the less. It really has been disappointing that no one has been more helpful to me, I am really hung up on this shim, axle pinion tilt up, and no one had one bit of info for me. I've researched and read about it, well I just ordered 4* and 6* shims and I suppose which works , works, have a nice day jeepers, happy trails

So I could not put her through the paces to get a handle on the head. Went in expecting the worst but hoping for the best. So far so good. LOL. |
