$300 paperweight to family mobile/ crawler
How's it going everyone. So most of you will probably beat me up when I make stupid comments and ask ignorant questions, but that's ok because that's how I will learn. So for starters this is only my second Jeep, first was a 94 zj with a 5.2 and some simple mods. My current beast is a 90 xj Bone stock and ugly. I plan on changing that and I will def need some help along the way. Anyway I appreciate everyone's help and look forward to being part of the community.

Nice base to start on, looks to be in good condition too with minor surface rust. Looking forward to the build. There are no stupid questions, just stupid people and stubborn responses haha ask anything you want.

Lower it, change the blinker fluid, make sure to upgrade the piston return springs, upgrade the muffler bearings, and make sure to use quality steel braided cross drilled brake lines.
This website will be your best resource.

Now that the dumb answers are out of the way...
That looks like a pretty clean Heep.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
What plans do you have so far?

Man Scottsxj, how did you know all of the things I was planning!?
Haha for starters I need to get her road worthy. The end goal is to be a decent vehicle for the family but still be able to go camping in some areas that take a bit more to get to.
The first thing I'm doing is the interior. As you can see, it's seen better days. I'll be cleaning it all up and then spraying down some bed liner.
The second thing is the suspension. It is beyond shot! So with this my goal is keeping it cheap but still gaining some lift. I was thinking about a Dakota bastard pack for the rear with all new hardware, all new shocks and stabilizers (any input under $200 for shocks is welcome) Tcase drop kit. Rubicon express coils. Drop Pittman arm, track bar, sway bar links and front and read extended brake lines. I'm looking for 4".
After that I will replace the bad water pump, some lines, battery and terminals, all new fluids. She actually purs as she sits just needs a few things and due to the 213k I'm not risking a tune up until I do the rebuild in a few months.
Then I'll slap some rattle can grey on her, trim the fenders, get some new rubber and that is it for the next couple months. Slowly I'll do more and more until I'm bored lol
Let me know what you all think and any input on junkyard components is always welcome.

No worries man.
Most of that comes from my youth, when I was into MkII and MkIII VW's.
The standard answer was always "Lower it" or "Go big turbo", when it came to questions from noobs who used to drive Mommy's MkIV Jetta.
The Kaleco site is alot of fun though, because there are some guys dumb enough to think that site is selling real parts.
The T-shirts and stickers are real enough though, so there's that.
Anyway, alot of your needs can be met on craigslist, and ebay.
Failing that, if you've got a good pick 'n pull in your area, you may be able to find alot of the stuff you need for not very much $$$ at all.
