Hello James! You got a nice jeep buddy.. I also have a rhd , but here in America, I wanted to ask you is there any chance I could source some parts for mine over in Australia.. I'm looking for the shifter bezel and I can't find it here in the states , thanks
Hector
Hi Hector, Sorry I'm not much help for that. I have only been sourcing new parts so far for the XJ. Not too many places here dealing with XJ used parts. I will keep an eye out though.
The XJ goes to the mechanic on Monday to get the rear main seal and a few other bits and pieces fixed. Then I will fit the lift kit and get some 30 or 31 inch tyres. Almost finished.
Looks like your well onto your way for a comfortable exploration rig, and fairly simple as well. Keeping to mindful accesories is an excellent approach. What's the deal with the prior bumper/brush guard that was on the jeep? It's not the typical ARB Bull Bar I expected but smoother in a way.
Yes I don't want to mess with it mechanically too much. Really want to keep it reliable.
The old bumper was a plastic job that I think was ugly and pretty useless. Never seen one like it before.
Lift!
3 inch Rough Country springs and shocks.
Adjustable lower control arms.
Adjustable panhard rod.
Swaybar quick disconnects.
Was hoping for a bit more but I gained about 1.5 inches up front and 2.5 in the back. Jeep sits nice and level and drives great.
However I have ordered some adjustable rear leaf shackles to get a bit more height before I load it up for camping.
I'm pretty much finished for now
