Dude this thing is next level, I’m loving it. As I was looking through your thread and seeing how new everything looks, I just kept thinking “One sad day there will be few to no XJ’s left.” I hope they bring it back some day

Thanks!
I love the way it sits and rides now. Bumps are way less harsh... more of a bump than a jolt....lol ...a couple inches makes all the difference (that's what she said)
The front wheels not being centered was bugging the hell out of me... It's one of those things not many would notice, but once you do you always notice.
I decided I'm going to Line X the rockers to keep them from the elements and rusting out....in a few months....
Then a Gobi rack... PLM transmission pan... wheels... and one size bigger tire probably 265/70 with a more aggressive pattern.

It took about a weeks worth of work... but turned out really good in my opinion. Sanded all the powder coat off the side rails and clear coated them.. sanded all the powder coat off of the cross rails..primed painted and clear coated those

Picked up some HPS coolant hoses to match the heater hoses. Price is outrageous but the top hose does not touch the battery, which is what I wanted... fit and quality is top notch.

My bumpstops were collecting water and rusted out immediately. I literally poured water out of them when I took them off.... horrible design. I got all the rust sanded off, primed and painted, then filled the hole with flex seal.
and a Rubicon parked next to me at cars n coffee this morning.
Cheers

When I replaced my bumpstops wish I realized that water could collect in there.
Good catch.
Might pull them off and do the same.
Or use some gasket material I have lying around.
Cut it to size and maybe glue it right on the bumpstop.
Or I could just wait until I put the Up Country Suspension on the Jeep.
And do it to the longer bumpstops I would buy for when I do.
If I ever get to it that is. LOL.

Taking a Jeep modification break. Picked up a Honda Ruckus to tinker on over the winter months... I've always wanted one... I had a Harley V rod.. it was way too easy to go too fast when you can hit second gear at 75mph...been collecting parts for the Ruckus for over 5 yrs.. even when I had the Harley...
About the only thing that will remain stock will be the battery cover and frame....
will swap in a 171cc big bore Gy6.... rims, lowered, stretched, disc brakes, painted frame etc... the goal is 70mph by May, 2021....doubling the top speed now... and to look badass! Lol

Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year!!! I hope 2021 is a little better! Stay safe!

Been a while.... did a few minor things to the XJ.
Switched to a different trans cooler...
Upgraded to a little beefier track bar.
It is running like a champ. Ice cold ac and the new trans cooler keeps transmission temps low!

Looks great. Striving to make mine better. Unibody frame stiffeners are a pain but I have the mid sections installed.

I really love your build, very clean and well thought out. I might steal that idea for the crossbars.

Hey! Sweet build!
I was hoping you might be able to give me some more information on a few things you did.
1. Where did you get the chrome bezels and grille from?
2. Can you post some more pictures of your seats? I've only seen "One Piece" leather seats once in a random picture. Further, any chance you could share your factory build sheet either here or by PM? I'm interested in these rare and weird parts and would love to be able to see the factory info on them.
3. Where did you get the PS5 paint from that you did the roof rack crossbars with? I have the same color XJ and haven't heard great things about matching the color.

Thanks!!
