Default 2000 xj build

So I have followed this forum for awhile now and decided to finally join it. Last year I built a 1998 xj classic. Turned out really nice in my opinion. Ended up selling it because I got s offer I couldn’t turn down. So I recently picked up a 2000 xj sport silver in color. It’s a nice start for a build. Already tore it all down. I will post pics later. I do have a question about replacing the leaf springs. The driver side front frame bolt was seized in the bushing. So I was able to free it up and get the bolt out. When I was about to install the new leaf pack the bolt wouldn’t thread in. I realized the welded nut was stripped out. So I cut into the pocket and removed the nut. I do not have a welder so what I did was I made a flag nut and threaded the bolt into it. What I want to know is if what I did will work fine and be safe. It seems solid but it’s not welded like the stock one.

With the amount of stress the leafs take in mind I would have it welded asap, definitely before it ever went off pavement. A lot of people, including me, had to cut the bolts out and go from there.

Yeah I mean I kind of figured that but i figured I’d ask. I haven’t even drove it yet so I will have to get it welded.
