dang man that doesn't look like it is gonna be fun to fix. I paid a grand for my XJ as well, you gonna rebuild it or scrap it and throw all your stuff on another jeep?

Was doin' 55mph. Did not even see the deer (4 pt), everything just exploded. It's gettin fixed right now. $2200 in damage. Getting a blk sport grille, new JCR bumper, and some YJ flares, and the blemished hood will get a fresh coat of paint with the fender. I'll post up when done.

Great to see it up and running agian man, Looks like you never hit the dear at all, and ive got a quick question for you, How did you do your mini boatsides, ive got rocker rust and I wanted to do that to my 98. Let me know when you get the chance.

I did a write up in the fab section called "mini boatsides". I basically cut the rockers off at the bottom of the door sill and left a 1/4" to weld to. Then I cut the bottom of the rockers off at the pinch weld and bent the pich weld back. I welded a 6" wide 3/16" flat steel plate at the top by the sill, and bolted the bottom to the pinch weld. I tacked the steel to the pinch also. I plan on welding tie in's to the boatside from the frame.
