The OG transmission TV cable (which controls hydraulic line pressure) was beginning to fail.
I removed the transmission oil pan to replace the cable with a new unit.
Also installed a new filter, and gasket- No RTV was used (RTV does not belong here)
Bad cable
Installing the new cable
Cleaned the pan + new gasket

Time to replace the OE fuel pump (check valve was bad, and hey, 230,000 miles!?)
Also installed two new fuel hoses that run to the gas tank.
Removed metal shield.
Dropped tank
Removed lock ring
Old pump
Everything is rust free.
Glug Glug. Drink up little one.
Good as new!

I found a really clean factory steering wheel, so I switched back to the stock XJ style wheel.
Getting pretty good MPG while on the highway at 65 mph!
Very clean buttons & leather.

I just reread your build thread... Great job on the maintenance and upgrades... The undercarriage looks super clean and I'm betting you'll get many years of service from your XJ...I like the orange sharpie trick.. Does it cut down on the light coming through the needles ?? And lastly , for the mileage that ring and pinion look to have many miles left on them I'm surprised how good they look for the use on them...
