Default 1999 Sport Mud Truck

Here's my xj. Got it for 1000$ with 117k, auto transmission, everything running fine. I would have liked to not have the power windows, but this was the best deal I'd found in months.

Plans are:
Already have s10 leafs for a bastard pack
Find some used 4.5" coils/shocks
Pop out the dents on the passenger side
Bedline the bottom half of the truck
Snorkel
35s
Drive into a lake so I feel better about bedlining the nice interior
Get some tow points
Maybe one day, when my welding is better, chop the top

This jeep will be a mud only truck. I'll be trailering it everywhere as it will not be insured. It has the Chrysler 8.25 and HP Dana 30 up front... assuming that all 99s had the HP

Finished my bastard pack. I used, in this order, xj main leaf, xj 2nd leaf, s10 2nd, s10 3rd, s10 overload, and netted me 5" of lift over what I had, assuming I had .5-1" in sag, I probably got around 4.5". Exactly what I wanted

Default Update

Flareless
Cut rear and fiberglassed the gap
Started cutting front (need to buy more cutting wheels)
Installed enough of my lift to get it sitting on the tires, still need to figure out sway bars
I broke all 4 rear shock bolts
Also broke the track bar bolt (axle side)... So I guess I'll have to drill that out... idk looks like a pita
TC drop waiting to be installed
Oh and I need bar pin eliminators

Got about 5" front and back (bastard pack and rustys front)

Update:
The lift is finished but now I'm itching to do a 2" budget boost
Fenders cut
Cleaned the throttle body
Just need some rear brake lines and 33s-35s and she'll be ready to wheel
I would post pics but... everything still looks the same lol
If anyone has a deal on some 33s 34s 35s or 36s mud tires let me know!

You'll want to upgrade those axles a little bit if you plan on running those big tires through the mud.

Are you saying people generally have trouble running 35s on a 29 spline 8.25? Especially only in mud it should hold up fine

xjmonkey posted about making bar pin eliminators free using the rear sway bar axle mount brackets and link insert.

Axle upgrades I was talking about were thing like gears and beefing up your steering to turn without breaking things also front ujoints to avoid snapping them.

Yes of course. I'll be upgrading parts as they break, since this is my trail only rig I can always limp to the trailer and tow it home and not have to worry about having it fixed to drive it the next day. I want to take it out with the stock gears first (assuming 3.55) to see how bad I need lower gears in the mud.

Update
Just ordered 93 2wd c1500 front brake lines and 96 dakota rear soft line off rockauto, came out to about 44$ shipped for everything
