Default 1999 dd/weekend s*it gitter

Well this is my first build thread. 5th xj in the past 3 years. All started with 1994 Pepsi can blue 2wd I got for 300 bucks, beat it at Moses lake dunes 2 years in a row, couldn't kill it. Ended up selling for 100 buck. Still running. 2nd one a 1989 grandpa jeep, immaculate condition. Lifted it and sold it cause motor started knocking and didn't wanna deal with it. 3rd 1988 chief i trade a neon 4, big, ugly and wheeled like a beast, sold it. 4th a moss green 1993 5 speed, really nice, just really wanted a late model so sold it for 2500 bucks. Finally got a black 1999 sport. The one I have always wanted to build.

Payed 3000 grand for it march of this year. Wayyyy to much. I bought it cause I was desperate for a rig, and couldnt pass up the black 99. The add said clean, runs great(which it does). I drove 2 hours to look it, was dark by the time I got there. Looked great in the dark. Had a little dirt on it so I couldn't really see the paint too well. Never been wheeled he says haha. Ok. So I bought it, signed the paper work on and was on my way back to whidbey island. Hit 55 mph... Uh oh.. Gonna need some new bushings. No biggie. Made it home. Woke up the next morning with that good feeling u get when u know there is a new rig waiting for u outside. I go out and start checking it out. I couldn't believe my eyes. It looked like he drove through a million black berry patches...haha never been wheeled I think. Needless to say I have my work cut out for me on this one. Her she is:

Long arms (getting built as I type)
custom long arm crossmember
5.5 rubicon express springs
lockright front(purchased craigslist score)
powertrax no-slip rear
tnt unibody stiffeners
iron rock off road double sheer trackbar kit
35x12.5x15 bfg mt km2
dana 30 chromoly shafts
h4 headlights
jcr upper rear quarter panel armor(ordered shipping soon I hope)
cobra wx 75 cb(ordered should be at home tomorow

Would love feedback on anything you see here that is no good or you know an yother better ways to go. thanks

Well the first thing that was done was a new windshield, no pics of that, not much to that install because a shop did it lol.

Next thing was a custom rear bumper. A buddy of mine built this bumper when I was at work last time. It still needs some work but it looks good so far. Made from 2x6 with some sheet to fill under the lights. Pics soon.

Trimmed front fenders. Next day girlfriend gets pulled over for no fender flares. So trying to figure out what to do for some good looking flares, she drives it a lot when I'm up in Alaska so I don't want her gettin messed with or me for that matter. Installed some temporary mudflaps before I left to keep the scent off my rig to the local state patrol.

I went to the moonshiners 4x4 swapmeet in puyallup, wa. walked around all day and couldnt find a darn thing for my jeep, right as I was leaving I saw a box marked "xj lights" so i rummaged through it and came across a passenger side turnsignal and headlight bezel in black for 5 bucks. it was ment to be. as u can see in my first pic, turnsignal is missing.

Well when I got the jeep the drivers seat felt a little funky, so being my dad owns an upholstery business who better to ask give me a hand figuring out the problem with my seat. We tore it apart and found that every weld on the lower seat frame was broken except for one. We did some tweaking, clamping and welding and had it stronger then new. Threw it back together and stuck it back in there. It was like a brand new seat.

I got my cb installed today, and ordered my new 33x12.5x15 Bfgoodrich km2s from discount tire.
I installed the power box for the cobra wx75 under the steering column. And mounted it to the right of the steering column. Works great. I will post more pics of it installed soon.
