Default 1997 XJ project corn crusher!!

Well just signed up on here and getting ready to start a new build after christmas.. I have been running Toyotas for ever and tired of them being headaches so now im in a xj and love it.. I have had every thing from 6 inch lift Yotas to a pre runner i built with fiberglass fenders and pro comp suspension. But now im wanting to lift my XJ and have fun with it. I use it for alot of hunting and fishing, it will be a daily driver but wanna be able to flex it. I been debating on 4.5 or a 6inch lift and really cant decide.. I know everyone will say go bigger but just want some input.. i would really like to be able to throw some 35's on it but would be happy with 33's. What is some input.. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/images...s/sign0085.gif

i had a 98 on 35's with 8" of lift. it was cool for tearing up stuff ha ha. i sold it basically because my kids and wife had a hard time getting in it. since i have bougth a stock xj and built it. you can check my build thread. it sits on 4.5 lift on 32's and its not a DD but driven alot. it does everything i want and need. its more suitable for me and my family as well. i can go just about anywhere i want but yet not too much on lift and tires. and i got a good friend that hooks me up with parts etc. i paid $1025 for 5 32x11.50 on new black crawler wheels. for 35's it was way more money. so i am very happy with my set up. another thing i thought about was as much as i drive it i would rather have to replace 32's than 35's when i needed tires

Go big or go home man. I have 5.5"s of lift and love that heck out of it. I'm thinkin about trimming and throwing 35s on it later next year.

The more i look i might go with 4.5 and see how i like it then if not happy jump up to the 6 or custom build my own even bigger.. Best part about this is i have a brother in-law with the same jeep year and all and wants to do the same.. So i know if i dont like it its not gonna be hard to pull from mine and stick on his..
