Ive been doing alot to my jeep recently so i decided to start a build thread to track the progress and get some input/ feedback from you guys. i Started off with this 4L 4 door cherokee sport, with UpCountry package. Heres some pics of the things ive done so far.

this was what it looked like about a month before i started the transformation. I had taken off the body trim and fender flares.

I lined the bottom of the body with Berliner for some added protection

I looked around at all kinds of bumpers from the big brand name companies and it was all out of my price range ATM, so my dad and I decided to just go ahead and build one. This is the progress in it so far.

As the bumper was coming together I didn't dig the look of the open front crossmember in behind the bumper so I made a cover plate that bolts on to the crossmember brackets.

So I wanted to Re finish my rear bumper to make it all purdy and such. I went and took off the drivers side plastic bumper guard to find the body still in excellent condition and no rust ! I proceeded with the other side to find this :O looks like I'll be adding some body work to this months agenda lol

Oh and I'm having trouble on figuring out how to actually take the rear bumper off. The mounts are in some really tight f***ed up places.. I have a 97 xj, can some one give me some advise on how to get it off ?

Cut and fold with take care of that!
Don't even bother fixxing it..cut out the rust, cut & fold it and seal it up good..Silicon inside to match sure water stays out of course..

i would go that route if i was going to put the corners back on, buuut im going to making a rear bumper soon and the caps werent in the plans lol. i think ill cut the rust out and just weld in a peice of sheet metal. thanks for the idea though !
