Got around to finally finding the right liftgate panel at my local junkyard and one that wasn't broken. This cleaned up real nice. Still some minor wear on the plastic but I'm fine with it for the most part.

I did find another radio at the junkyard which did work but eventually died due to the heat where I live. Gonna just pay someone to fully restore it that way I know the radio works good
Can you pick up factory radio's at decent prices? It would seem that most people these days want some type of high audio with BT and all the other gizmos. I'd like to replace my radio with a factory one.

Online they run for a lot of money but at junkyards, from my experience anyways, they run from $15-$25. But you better be the first one to that XJ or it will most likely already be taken and sold online.

Good to know. Thanks. I'll look up what radios fit what years so I know what to look for and not bypass a model because I don't think it will fit.
Finally got around to replacing my nearly 30 year old Harmonic balancer today after the new one sat in a box for months. Was way easier to do than I had originally thought. Definitely needed it.
So about a week or so ago my Jeep decided it wanted to start and immediately die which gave me the false idea that it was the CPS when in fact it was just the "new" ballast resistor. Safe to say I just connected the wires together and called it a day. After going through the hell that is swapping out the CPS of course.
So the reason I haven't updated this thread in a while is because my facebook account was randomly deactivated and this account was linked to said facebook account so it is lost so I decided to make a new one NOT linked to anything this time(lol) and just continue where I left off.
Noticed my passengerside wheel was starting to have some play in it so I replaced the wheel hub assembly and that opened up a whole can of worms. The threads on the axle shaft were so rusty that the axle nut actually tore them up when i turned it loose causing me to buy a temporary cv axle just to get me back on the road and fix the problem since t he U-joint is still good.
Noticed some rust bubbling up for the last year and finally got around to fixing it. Used some JBweld SteelStik putty to fill the holes since I do not know how to weld nor do I have access to one and I think it came out well. Also took the time to repaint the entire roof since it was also getting rusty and missing some. Of course after sanding down, I found more holes and some small holes that were actually bigger. Fun project though.
So I've recently started camping inside my XJ more and decided to buy a solar panel kit so I can charge my phone and run a fan while I'm asleep. Drilled some holes through the roof rack and secured it there and ran the wire down and behind the tail light. Have a cheap small lawn mover battery hooked up so it's not optimal for running the fan I have. Going to eventually buy a bigger battery and another Solar Panel to go along-side this one soon. Also a pic of my little bed that is definitely wide enough for me and doesn't feel like im falling off it all the time.
Found 3 Turbine rims at the junkyard and bought them. Wanted to wait to get a 4th to put them all on but I was sick of letting them sit in my driveway. Happy to have them at least. 10 times better than the old rusty ones.
When I replaced my static triangle windows with my smoker windows, What was left of the petrified original divider channel fell out of both slots and I've had tons of wind noise and window rattling for over a year and a half. Finally got around to finding new ones and put them in tonight. What a difference. Makes me want to replace all the seals on my Cherokee.(Featuring Cats and all the stains on the ground)
