1987 XJ weekend "endeavour" project
Well I am used to working on A 2001 Wrangler TJ "Serenity", and this 1987 XJ "not named yet" will be the second vehicle I have "officially" owned. So far I am fairly happy with my XJ, she runs fairly well for a "lemon" as did "serenity" back when she was a lemon vehicle as well. I guess you might call it a little bit of a hobby to take a lemon and make it into a good running vehicle. Just about anything I will do to my XJ will be posted on this project thread. So without further to do here she is in all her unpainted glory, my XJ!

Alright before I start adding to many new things to my XJ project, I need to "unlemon" my jeep. so I need to correct some faults that are plaguing my Jeep.
First Fault: Symptom: Jeep stalls when when coming to a stop in parking areas and temperature gauge is below normal operating level. Jeep has "rough" start.
-fix: replaced Idle Air control valve, stall symptom lessened but still persists.
second fault: fuel pump "whines" when fuel level is 1/4 or below.
I tell you what even though I am beginning to like my XJ, this stalling issue is driving me nuts. I have managed to suppress it by installing a new idle air control valve.

All right well my jeep is a weekend only project because I live on base and it is not allowed to work on you vehicle on base . so during the weekends I take my "endeavor" outside of base or go to the vehicle bays on base (4$ an hour and they provide you tools and a lift ). this weekend I plan on replacing the fuel pump and do an overall CCI on my xj. I also plan on replacing these stupid grill light...things and put on new trail lights.
