been a good while since an update, but i finally got some new (free) tires put on, as well as a Rusty tack bar. Tires are some generic "chaparell" or something like that, but my dad got new tires for his truck so anythings better than what were on it before. 265/75/16

also replaced the header panel (not pictured) because the old one was all busted about to fall off....I got it off a 96 and apparently it doesnt have the screw holes for the corner lights, so I had to get a new set of the trim for around the lights that have the holes on that? Didnt know they changed that.

No joke. The toughtst part of any hobby is sticking with a budget. With ours just seems to be impossible.

thanks! Im tempted to do more, but in reality, Ill just use it to drive to work, and make my way to the mountains to go shooting/exploring. not trying to flex the hell out of it or anything. only thing left on the list really is new shocks, and I have been toying with the idea of making it into a 4dr truck since my hatch leaks like crazy. tried a new hatch, same issue. I am a welder so I plan on closing the cab in and using a plexiglass rear window, would like it to look as OEM as possible.

also thinking about a 8.8 or maybe this C8.25 that I saw at the pull a part

one problem I am having though, my drivers side parking light doesnt want to come on, bulb is good, socket looks good, didnt see any bad wires on the harness but ill look again, sometimes the blinker will work, sometimes it wont. and if I turn on my lights, the left turn signal indicator on the dash just stays on at all times. weird.

still waiting on the headlight trim, spraypainted the black fender as you can see

Cool budget build. I like the injector tidbit. I want to do this but dont want the motor to run to lean and pop a piston. This is comin out real cool. Great work!!

i had the same problems with my lights. what is was was tht some of my lights were getting more power than others causing them to either not work or was really weak. i found tht some of my bulbs were dead and some were jus old. so i replace all my bulbs and my lights work good. try it. if tht doesnt work check ur fuses. and relays

all of my bulbs are new, sockets are good (I replaced one that was bad), fuse is good, and the blinker relay is new. The thing is, a few weeks ago, it was the drivers side that worked, now its the passenger side that works.

I did however, notice that water is leaking into the cab from my slave cyl, leading right to the fuse panel so there might be some corrosion behind that. Ill have to check it out this weekend.

got my headlight trim pieces and corner lights finally. for some reason, rock auto sent me a painted white one, lol. Doesnt matter as they are getting painted blue anyways. also the white one doesnt let the corner light fit in all the way, so ill have to trim that. either way, you cant be $25 shipped for all of it....

did some trimming today. cut around the flare line in the front, and for the back I trimmed to the spot welds and rolled the fenders in. also painted the wheels. pretty happy with it so far. also trimmed the front lower corner a little more after the pics were taken.

Looking good!
For future reference on that broken manifold stud I know its late but here's what I did when I had the same trouble.
If you got a buddy with a mig welder you could try this:
Weld a booger on the end of the stud and back it out with vice grips
worked for me, and the surrounding metal (the head) is cast so it wont directly fuse easily just be careful not to dump the arc into the cast.

thanks for the tip, I actually have a MIG and a TIG (im a welder by trade), but the stud was broken off about 1/8" inside the hole. its been like 5 months and it isnt leaking or anything so im not too concerned about it.
