Thats way over kill imo id go 16ga thats what my cb mount abd taillight guards are and they are pretty tough

Lol yeah and if you get rocks in your tread they would dent 30g when they fly out when you get back on the road. Find a good balance thats pliable enough to bend smoothly but still rigid.

Ya but he is making the frame out of weak conduit so a heavier thicker metal doesnt seem worth it and I agree a balance should be found I think 12ga isnt it

Better to have one strong point, in this case the sheet metal, than just have 2 weak points.

Personally I dont see much of a benefit of doing it but thats just me. Ik a guy that can get the metal at a good price since I do alot of bussiness with him cuz of work. Let me know If you want me to call and see if he can get the metal for you.

I just want it to be a little thicker to look good and not dent up from rocks but yea give him a call
