Cut and fold is the easiest and safest route I think. If you need it Iv got an extra pair of tin snips that cut pretty good. Grinder would be better and faster tho.

Ive got a grinder and a few cut off wheels for it and im comfortable with using it. How spaced should my upward cuts be? 3 inches?

I think you need them as close as possible on the corners so it bends smoothly and just space them out a good bit on the straighter parts just be sure you dont cut the welds

I can help cut after 5, I've done a few so it can be knocked out fast/clean.
