I already have that override setup on my e-fan. Once I turned the fan on it dropped to 195-200 for the rest of the trip. I guess I'm just dissapointed that the CSF 3 row hasn't been that much of an upgrade, I really wanted the system to be able to handle stop and go and stay right at or below 210 without the e fan.

I may do the tarus fan, but I'm wary of the wiring involved. Also seriously considering doing hood vents to see if that helps, just looking to keep it below 210 as much as possible, I've already blown one head gasket and that lead to a ruined engine trying to avoid that again at all costs.

The jeep motors like 210... not much hotter, but not much colder either. If you keep the temps under 200 you will get worse gas mileage.

I hope when you blew your head gasket you put a pre 98 head back on.. they are stonger then the 99 and newer.

I tried too, only to have it blow out a valve, that lead to the camshaft failure. I have since installed a reman engine that has been great, no issues. We will see how well the cooling system does on the beach in the heat.

I know my rig is only a trail rig, and doesnt see highway speeds, but mine runs fine at 210 all day long with the e-fan and mech fan. Only cooling mod I did to mine was changed from a closed loop cooling system to an open style.

Very late 99 though 01's had the 0331 casting. Most 99's have the stronger casting. But you're right about the 4.0 liking that 200-210 range. Anything under or over effects mpg's pretty heavily.

I knew they had issues in 99 and newer, but wasnt sure of the yr... so I stay 98 and older..

Sitting at 18.4 MPG right now, thats pretty good. Running it hotter had it go up it seems by about 1-2MPG.

Yeah the Jeeps comp likes 200-210 as all ready posted. Even the older ones like it that warm.

I think I may have found a project truck, an old J-10. Looked at it last night, has no engine, trans or transfer case. Has a couple rust spots on the bed that needs to be repaired but the frame looks solid, hoping to pick it up for a couple of hundred and make a monster out of it.

Good find... Chevy 1 tons are a great swap for them.. or rockwells for that matter. Matt on MPJAI had a 360/t18 combo forsale.. would be great in a J10.

Right now im thinking the 44s should hold 35s for now, need to get situated with the new job before I could even start to do this though. Ill have to look into that, but I know my buddy has a full race 350 sitting in his garage that would look dam nice too.

Anybody heard anything about Pitbull Growler Radial tires? Looking at getting them in 31s for the jeep and supposedly starr motors carries them.

Pitbull makes some nice tires, I personally like there rocker tires wich are the off road tire, then they have the maddog tire which is there mud terrain, and then the growler which is there aggressive all-terrain. But all there tires perform really well. If you can afford a set id say go for it. You wont regret it.

Id go for the rocker, or maddog if they made em in 31s, i didnt think they were that much more expensive then your average 31.
