Just be careful where you go metal detecting. It's illegal on Cape Hatteras National Seashore and the park ****’s are going wild keeping an eye on beach people.

It's illegal to use a metal detector? Or drive one the beach? That's so weird I never would have thought it would be illegal. Crazy.

It's a national seashore so it's Federal land. I'm not in a good postion to pass judgement on the rules but you'd be surprised what people get in trouble for on Federal land.

Its not illegal to Drive on the beach in fact thats the only way to get to the house and a 4x4 is required. The posted speed limit is 30 mph and 15 mph when you see pedestrians. The leasing co said if you dont have a 4x4 you wont be allowed on the beach.
